We came because its name caught our attention. Their cocktails were a bit too dry for my taste, not to my liking. But it's worth a try.

Excellent food! We had fresh oysters and shared the salmon salad and chicken sandwich.

Sat at the bar. Had a Good and Proper and 6 raw oysters. Drink tasted great, oysters were prepared well, and the bartender was professional.

Staff was friendly. Did not have to wait long for a table. I definitely recommend the steak frites with the duck fat fries.

Great food with French influence, steak frites was good especially fries in duck fat. Not too good of wine selection. We ordered 2 glasses of French Syrah Grenache and it tasted awful. Likely they had the bottle open for a long while. The waiter was cool to change the wines to a different type though.

5*. The 2 vegetarian / fish dishes were superb. My lads both scoffed the meatballs and steak frites within moments. Good cocktails. Wait staff on the ball.

With a mid-week day off, friends and I converged on Damn the Weather for some fancy drinks and a late lunch. There were a variety of cocktails on the menu. We enjoyed some fresh Washington oysters (Olympia wild and Penn Cove), a tasty Caesar salad with anchovies, and a chicken sandwich with delicious fries. Our server was friendly and personable, and the beautiful brick building reveals why Pioneer Square remains so charming. This was my second time here, and it will remain a delightful treat when in the area. Though it was easy to run up our bill, it felt of good value for a great day walking around the city. Enjoyed it so much, forgot to take pictures after the first drink!

The service was helpful and friendly, though perhaps a bit too eager at times (check-ins every few minutes). The drinks menu was creative with a nice variety of choices, though with only two mocktails. The menu was fresh and fairly local but had few choices that were not deep fried or heavy on oil, that we could see, anyways. There were six of us and when we were done eating every single plate had a thick glaze of oil/fat on it—except the cornichons.

But. The noise. I've been to punk rock shows at the showbox that didn't require me to shout so loud that my throat is sore and hoarse the next day. Conversation is a huge driver of dinner outings and it was almost impossible. A simple and fairly inexpensive solution would be black (or whatever preferred color) baffling on the ceiling or easily camouflaged spots on the walls. At least there wasn't a badly curated Spotify playlist grinding at our heads as well.

Won't be returning because of the miserable level of noise.

All our food was bad. But cocktails and atmosphere were great.

Went in there with a small group. We weren't very welcomed. There were about 10 of us and mature adults, avg age 60 however we were treated like troublemakers. They weren't very friendly and acted like it was a major pain to serve us.
All one bill and automatic 20% gratuity. We had one quick drink and left.
I guess it's fine if you have 2 - 4 people.

Wack customer service. I found a hair in my soup. They said they would get me another one. I, of course, did not want another bowl from the same soup and asked for something else. I ate the replacement lunch and when I got the bill with the soup taken off, next to it included a note “returned by customer”. I asked the server if they knew about the hair. They said yes. I inquired about a discount for that. Server said “we gave you something else” and did not apologize. I guess they don’t care if you have the experience of pulling hair out of your soup there. It’s their fault I returned it and I’m treated like it was my choice. Learn from others on how to treat that situation. Very Uncool.
