I’ve been taking my dog here for about two years. On 12/13/2025 I brought my dog to the dog
yard for the Shiba Inu meetup. We have come to these meetups before and have never had any
issues. However this time after being at the dog yard for a little over an hour my dog was bit on
her anus by a dog that had just come in. I saw this couple checking in with their shiba on a
leash in which it lunged at my dog and another person's dog. Both dogs that were lunged at
distanced themselves from this new aggressive dog. Once this couple had checked in they
immediately let their dog off leash and within seconds it snuck up on my dog to bite her. She
screamed and ran to hide rather than engage. I saw that she was bleeding and asked for a wet
wipe so that I could disinfect and get a look at her injury. One of the workers gave me a wet
towel and walked away. She also got blood on one of the couch cushions. We realized the
extent of her injury and immediately left to get her to the emergency vet. The emergency vet
saw her within less than 30 minutes waiting. My dog had to be sedated and given sutures, pain
meds, and antibiotics. Throughout this experience I was calling the dog yard and the man on the
line was kind and helpful in forwarding my information to the owners of the aggressive dog.
However its been several days and the dog yard has been ignoring my emails asking for more
information and also being passive aggressive over the phone. This place is no safer than
taking your dog to a public off leash park. They refuse to give me the contact information of the
owners. I’m out $960 and the people responsible have not contacted me. I’ve been provided no
info on if they will be banned from the park or not. I felt as though this would be a safe space
and that having a middleman would aid in the case of injuries. This has not been my
experience. They have not assisted whatsoever in gathering evidence and they let in an
aggressive dog that displayed harmful behavior in front of the employee checking them in. Dog
bites are mandatory to report in Seattle so I will be seeking the help from animal control as well
as SPD

Great concept but if I’m paying this much just to bring my dog here, maybe vet the dogs? My dog was yapped at and followed incessantly by an extremely loud (I’m talking, ear-hurting) shriek-barking dog the entire time. You know the kind. Literally *every few seconds* this dog was shrieking/ yelping at mine. Ugh.

Owners of dog not doing anything. Owner of bar not doing anything. It’s not like anyone was extremely busy either, this went on for over 40 minutes. Who wants to hear that after a long day of work? Sorry but this makes me not want to come back, ears literally ringing.

Another huge dog, a regular, barking aggressively / territorially at both me and my pooch for seemingly no reason. No response or care.

It’s giving middle aged after work meetup/frat party, and YES they are very innattentive to their dogs according to what I saw. like another said, this place is for a handful of regulars. When those few regulars left tonight, music was turned off, and the staff there tucked into her phone and stood around silently waiting to leave with her purse. i get it , you close at 8, but it was like 7:47 when music was turned off and lights started going off. For someone coming by after work and getting there sometime during the last hour, kind of a rip off. The biggest turn off for sure tho is the lack of attention to problem dogs. Dont expect care if a dog is being a problem to your pooch.

I really like this dog bar, it’s one of my favorite places to bring my dog, and the space itself is great.

Today, though, I walked 30 minutes only to find out there was a meetup for a specific type of dog. The website was incorrect and had posted “Saturday, November 27th” as being open to everyone, which is obviously confusing because that date isn’t a Saturday. I mentioned this to the front-desk staff so they’d know it was incorrect, but instead of acknowledging the mistake or apologizing, he was short, dismissive, muttered under his breath, let us know we couldn't come in, and gave attitude.

This hasn’t been a one-off interaction, it’s the same person each time, and I’ve seen him speak the same way to other customers. It makes the entry experience unnecessarily unpleasant, which is disappointing because the rest of the place is great. He's great with the dogs, humans - not so much.

I genuinely want to keep coming here, and I hope the front-desk service improves, even a simple apology or a friendly tone would go a long way.

Ended up at Dog Yard for a Paint-n-Sip event. I was really impressed with the venue. A variety of comfy seating areas and a good variety of drink and snack options. Will definitely come back with the dog.

We use to love this place when it was under different ownership, but now it feels unfriendly. We’ve been going here since it opened day one and then went once after ownership changed and the park shrunk in size. We have two senior dogs: a 10 year old Shepard and a 17 year old shih tzu. Before the park changed, it was a great place for play and the staff was very informed on the different types of dogs and personalities of those types of dogs. In our one and only visit under the new ownership and shrunken park, we left disappointed. We were told our Shepard was “a lot” and “needed to calm down” IT’S A DOG PARK! Our 10 year old Shepard has been going to dog parks since she was spayed at 3 months old, almost everyday. We’ve never had this issue ever. She’s my partner’s ESA and is a sweet, loving dog. No aggression at any point in her life. She loves all people and animals. I don’t think I’ve met a nicer living being on this planet. And for context, I worked with dogs and zoo animals (canines, bears, hawks, marine mammals) for over 10 years. The dog yard now only feels welcoming of small dogs which is a consistent problem for many big dog owners in the city, whether that be dog parks or otherwise. This was one of the few places where my dogs could play and my partner and I could relax. Our big dog, Luna, had all her birthday parties there. But I don’t see us going back any time soon. Not unless there are some accessible changes. (Picture of her at OG Dog Yard on her birthday)

Dog Yard is quite the experience. Water misters and tubs in the summer for the dogs (stand in their misters to cool down if you're human) and heaters in the winters for all. Plenty of undercover areas for hot days, as well as rainy days. Tons of rotating drinks all the time, plenty of dogs to pet and people to mingle with.
If you do happen to get a membership, I urge you to come often, as you will forge friendships with either humans, or the dog regulars that accompany them.
Food trucks are here on the weekends and they do offer snacks, but no full fledged hot meals.
They do various themed activists throughout the year, like a Halloween costume contest, small dog meet-ups, veterinary Q&A's, and many other things.

This was a hidden gem. We were from out of town and didn't have a dog with us but it was lovely to sit out on a nice day with a beer while watching the dogs have a fun runaround.
We just stumbled on the place just needing something to drink and it made our day.

Great concept and friendly people(customers) and dogs. However, the bar tender definitely tries to pressure or even shaming you into buying stuff even when they have very limited selection. The also have the expectation of everyone of the party ordering something.

We visited here twice and have experienced dog owners who are not attentive toward their dogs. There were cases of aggressive behavior and mounting towards our dog. While we understand that can happen with dogs being dogs, the unfortunate part was that there seemed to be a lack of care by the dog owners and staff to break this up. When we tried to break up another dog biting our dog we were confronted by their owners aggressively. We felt uncomfortable and left. There seems to be group of regulars who attend here and it doesn’t feel the most welcoming to newcomers. Hopefully they can resolve these issues soon.

Our dog Luka had such a great time! It’s a great spot to have a drink while our dog burns some energy. The place is cleaned so well it doesn’t smell bad at all. The atmosphere is very welcoming. Will definitely come back!

Great idea. Mostly very Nice staff. They have a lovely space with water tanks, misters, and a bar for people.

Not sure if they still have food as the place shrunk by 50%!! I miss the larger size so there were places for doggos to chill if they needed a moment. But the venue can’t control the lease.

They don’t have real bathrooms anymore which is not great. It’s a tiny bit pricey. And sometimes check in can take upwards of 15 minutes for no reason.

That same employee is often very weird about check in. Different rules at different times with different dogs. For instance we have two dogs. They have matching collars. Checked both in with no problem. Took one out to walk back to the car because we forgot a phone. When we came back, same guy at check in now said the collar was not ok and we needed to ADD another collar?

He then spent 13 minutes explaining where the bathrooms were to a new girl. Not sure if he thought she was cute and wanted to hit on her but 13 minutes for that was insane. People were waiting to exit and were unable to because he wouldn’t finish talking to her. It was really cringe.

Later he went on a whole thing about rule four to someone. Who when pointed to a sign and said but rule four on here is completely different and the heavier guy with glasses and white beard who’s been here forever said that was a different set of rules and guests needed to follow both sets of rules at all times. He was just being really creepy. Honestly my guess is he tends me more of a nervous person who likes control and doesn’t feel confident. That said, the man who is taller and looks mildly like a train conductor is phenomenal and should be promoted. Crazy hard worker. Chill but maintains calm and safety.

Well keep coming but we aren’t doing it as much as we used to.

The ideal place to socialize a high energy puppy in a controlled environment. Well worth the package deals, I got 60 visits for $70. I sit on the couch and relax while the puppy gets energy out. The staff is all regular and knows what they are doing.
