Yet another heart warming and belly pleasing Guest Chef Night. Chef Nathan Lockwood really outdid himself on this menu, and the Farestart students and volunteers executed to perfection. Panzanella salad with fresh tomatoes, perfectly grilled sourdough, and a dance of creative toppings. Roast pork or cauliflower with a delicious blend of lentils, pickled onions, jalapenos, and a fried egg. And delightful pavlova with lime curd, berry sorbet, and fresh basil. I don't know how...
We got our reservation time wrong and arrived an hour early. One in our party has a bad hip and uses a walker and the staff quickly accommodated us in spite of it being our mistake. We were very appreciative of that gesture of kindness and the whole evening was wonderful. Such a good program with amazing staff, clients and volunteers!
Fare Start was hosting a guest chef, Janet Becerra of Pancita, and the three course dinner was amazing, especially a fabulous soup! We will definitely make plans to go to Pancita in the future, and kudos to Fare Start for their innovative program training people for restaurant hospitality.
