“Not a place for whack or insecure energy—take that to the Octopus Bar XD People are HELLA cool about pronouns here, as an lgbtq lad—just be yourself and don’t make a big “deelieo” or worry, I was worried too, but nobody gave a shit and were just like “oh cool—do you wanna go play pool dude?”. Went here for the first time just to check out the scene, just met the Bartender Robert, he was kind and chill. FINALLY MODEST DRINK PRICES, was a great time!“

“If you're looking for a fantastic place to socialize and enjoy some great drinks, Diesel is the spot! The bartenders here are always super nice and make some of the best, stiff drinks in town. Don't miss out on Taco Tuesday – it's the perfect excuse for a weekday beverage. Whether you're a regular or a newcomer, Diesel is a welcoming place where you can relax and have a great time with like-minded men. Highly recommended!“

Pony

Pony Gay Bar • $
1221 E Madison St, Seattle

“Best and safest bar on the hill. Stay away straights. The goth person with the cvnty makeup running the door is always amazing and we never have issues getting in. Some spaces should be gatekept from the finance bros and tradwives. If you are offended by queerness, stay away!
Edit: Never had any issues with creeps or spiked drinks. This is a common issue in bars across the country and within cap hill. Watch your drink everywhere.“

“We were all settled in for the night but unfortunately it was a themed night and we were improperly attired. Staff informed us of this in an extremely polite and diplomatic way and we left but in the few hours previous to this the place was great. Prices were not extortionate as some other bars in the area are. The drink pours were generous and the bartender made us his take on a cosmopolitan (ask for his passionfruit cosmopolitan, you won't regret it). The other customers seemed friendly and chatty. We'll definitely be back if we return to Seattle.“

“Such a good Turkey melt and OMG the fries are to die for. I've dealt with the ear-piercing Karaoke to eat, that's about the only downside. Leave your hearing aids at home if you can, probably will need some in a few months if I become a regular.“

“I shouldn't say this as I consider this a great secret: I eat here before and after Seahawks/Sounders/Mariners games then jump on the light rail to the stadium. I have even walked to the stadiums from here. As for the food, holy smokes: it is great. I have eaten here about 30 times and never been disappointed. This morning I had the chorizo torta for brunch. The roll was so soft; it melted in my mouth. And the flavor of the chorizo: sublime. The owner, Oscar, was in today and came out to greet us and check in on our order. So friendly and is committed to making his small business thrive. The wait staff checked in quickly and got drinks going. On our visit after the Seahawks blew a lead to the Vikings last week, I had a margarita....Can you say: everyone at the bar getting tipsy? These are good! Lots of flavors...not too sweet. The venue is brand new; the menu did not change much from their past location which closed due to the pandemic. The decor in the new location is very comforting. The restaurant got a small grant to have a mural painted on one wall: very classy. The restaurant has lots of big windows to give the restaurant a big feel, i.e. not squished. Overall, A+.“
