Super cool vibes and mood lighting made Guillotine a nice cocktail stop before a recent trip. We sat at the bar and while I didn't adore our drinks (they were a bit overcomplicated for my taste) we had a nice time and I'd come back for another try.

MISCHARGED and deceptive tipping practice in the credit card terminal! I was shown a paper bill for $25+ (including tax) so I was thinking ok, add $5 for tip. The credit terminal has the usual buttons for adding a tip, which I did ($5). Now I was distracted and a little drunk so my bad for not catching that the total shown already includes 25% tip and you have to back out of that screen to change it. This is DECEPTIVE. More importantly, back calculating from the $36-plus showing on the terminal (before my added $5), the base charge was ~$4+ higher than the bill I was shown.

This food was disgraceful. I couldn’t even bring myself to take a bite. The steak tartare was as already grey and the vegetables plate was literally watery burrata with a couple of floating vegetables. This is literally after we wait to eat this in person but it took over an hour and we asked for it to go. They comped a rainier and some fries. They also told us they were only serving 3 different cocktails for the night and I had to ask multiple people for what beers they offered which the last person reluctantly mentioned only having a rainier available. Worse restaurant experience I have had in a long time.
