Ordered yesterday. All my food was raw. I ordered fried okra, hush puppies and beignets. The okra was raw, breading half cooked, the dough inside the beignets and hush puppies were still wet. So disappointed and disgusted.

synopsis: mediocre (at best) and over-priced This "bistro" also seems to suffer from an identity crisis. They keep changing the name of the place (like that's why business isn't popular). Also, their own website states how it's French-Vietnamese fusion, but also French-Creole (because French). I wish they would pay more attention to the quality and consistency of their food and service, as they do to their website. I liked this place better when it was the original Bol (the new location has bad service, but that's for another review). Save your time and money and find better quality and better value elsewhere

This place has a great feel. That’s mostly because of the friendly, efficient service & good tunes. The gumbo is delicious, as is the deep fried okra. I’ve also had the red beans and rice, which are excellent. Nice selection of beer and cider to go along with it. I look forward to trying more items on the menu. A sweet little spot off the beaten path. I will be back!

Great place. Love the customer service. The food is perfect. And a great place to get hard to find creole ingredients.

Nice spot for delicious Creole. I had a brother come into town and asked me to take him back here.

creole and the feeling at this location is super good. Good place to hang and eat some good food. The service here is better than most. Not so close to my office, unfortunately.

We tried this spot for the potential for good southern food. The beignets were good, as was the fried okra. But, the gumbo left something to be desired. The seafood gumbo had very few pieces of fish and the andouille sausage gumbo was served without any andouille sausage at all! In addition, Gumbo Cafe's card reader wasn't working so we had to walk to their sister restaurant down the block to pay for our meal. Overall, we were disappointed and will not be returning.

I'm not sure how this food taste, because I'm too scared to eat it. I've never seen deep fried egg rolls or beignets that look like this. The "beignets" are hard and round. The "deep fried rolls" are soggy and look like undercooked egg rolls. I ordered the shrimp and pork rolls and received tofu instead. The strawberry also doesn't look fresh. Be careful if you order from this place. They are very stingy when it comes to refunds, even if they mess your food up.

Ordered delivery and food was prepared quickly. I got the fried okra and the gumbo with crawfish. The fried okra was great! I originally thought that the base gumbo option on UberEats would have a mix of proteins like typical gumbo and the protein selection would be for extra add-ons, but instead it's just what proteins you want in your gumbo. This makes sense because it makes the gumbo more customizable, but I could see the price adding up because each protein selection costs ~$4-6 extra on top of a $12 base meal. It would be nice if you could just order a combo gumbo that has a little of each protein. The gumbo itself was nice and flavorful. Good portion size too, the amount in the picture that I spooned on the rice is about half the container. I think that the crawfish in the gumbo definitely tasted more plain than the rest of the dish, but I was craving crawfish so I didn't mind too much.

Purchased the gumbo, red beans and rice, collard greens, and corn bread. The gumbo seemed more like tomato sauce with okra. The red beans had as much celery as beans and the beans were not terribly flavorful. The corn bread was way too sweet making it seem like cake. The collard greens and hot sauce were decent. I would suggest using recipes from a New Orleans cook book and having transplant from Nola test it for you.

Total bummer, really wanted to like this place! I live a few blocks down and popped in for lunch- if you want meat in your gumbo it’s a $20 plate. Got it and it was nothing like other gumbo I’ve had- no spice and was super bland. If I made it at home I’d look for a new recipe. If you like well-spiced grub this is not your place!
