I went there for my first time on a field trip. It was sooooooooooooooooooooooiooooooooooooo good!!!!!! ?????? I love their chowmein and fried rice! :-D ? awesome service too!

20 years ago this was our go-to place however like all of these dim sum restaurants. They lost their good Hong Kong Chef to some other establishment. Every couple of years you have to change restaurants because the chef they imported from Hong Kong gets his green card and takes off. Sounds, comical but it's the truth

The International District, ID, has been hard hit lately. House of Hong has screened off their grand dining room so that only the gifts display and take-out counter are accessible. Food was good, as always. Inexpensive, too!

We have a number of fine Chinese restaurants in Seattle, The House of Hong is on the top of our list. Not only is the menu selection variable, but there is also plenty of choices. The quality of the food is top quality. It arrives at your table steaming hot, fresh and ready to enjoy. The service is also top-shelf. We enjoyed everything about our meal and the time spent at the House of Hong. We will be returning soon.

We were there for dinner and had the shrimp and cilantro dim sum, stir-fried cod with veggies, and the special chow mein. They were all quite tasty though I wasn't as impressed with the chow mein, it was mostly noodles and the squid was a little overcooked and consequently, chewy. The stir-fried cod had ginger, which we like, but was a little bit on the salty side. Parking was easy because it is right next to the restaurant and we were lucky it wasn't full. We have been here many times before and enjoyed the food. We also like to go there earlier in the day for dim sum, they have a good variety.

The three stars are mostly for the food. Besides the duck being cold and over-salted, the food was good, and the prices and portions were fair. They recommended we make reservations, so we did. Upon our arrival, we were ignored. When I finally flagged the manager down to ask directions to the restrooms, he asked if we had reservations and then showed our party to a small booth near the kitchen door, forgetting that I had asked for directions in the first place. Looking around, we noticed we were one of only three tables dining there at the time. It stayed that way the entire time we dined, save for two couples coming in for some quick dim-sum. I'm still wondering why they insisted that we made reservations. The service was fair, but they were preparing for some sort of large party, therefore noisily setting the big tables for the party was their priority. I felt the bars of Irish Spring soap in the urinals was a little bit cheap and tacky. I won't avoid this place in the future, but I most definitely will not go out of my way to visit again.
The servers were pleasant and we got seated right away. The carts came around quickly. Service was great, the place seemed clean. The dishes were warm and greasy, the food wasn't that great but wasn't the worst either. I did enjoy the vegetables and there was a delicious sauce the server poured over them. I was surprised that I was still full a couple hours after we ate. I equate that to a lot of grease in the food. There are several other dim sum restaurants very close that I would try, but sadly not go back to this one.

I love The House of Hong not just because it has a great name. It's not the food because I have never eaten there. My guess would be Chinese food. Part of it is that ai git a really great tip after delivering an order from their in my bicycle.

Good food, average service, I noticed that not all tables are served equally based on the their locations. If that gets fixed I will go back. Try their chicken pastries, its devine!

This is a great spot for a dim sum lunch. The food is good. It can easily accommodate a large group and has some parking. There is limited English spoken but enough that you will get the help you need if this is a new experience. Enjoy
