We stopped in for lunch for a birthday. The food is over priced but we expected that because of where it is. The food was alright. I got the clam chowder, that was tasty. The ceviche was really watery with HUGE chunks, and it's not supposed to. Portions for the price are small. My husband got a different platter for about $30 and it was a lot less than we anticipated, but whatever.
What irked me the most was our server. We had a large party, and we *know that* so we weren't in a rush or loud or demanding, and our server acted like it was the largest inconvenience. Most of us ordered alcohol, all of us ordered food. Good opportunity to get those tips, sir!! Especially on a slow work day afternoon, a table of 11 people is a great opportunity - if you chose to roll your eyes and grit your teeth, that's on you.
Given all the places in Seattle, I won't go back. Food was meh, service was also meh.

Dined here with out of town guests from AZ.
The service was great, and the vibe is traditional Ivars, casual and comfortable.
The food was a disappointment, to say the least. I ordered the Grilled King Salmon ($44) from the "Fresh Sheet," which included mashed potatoes and vegetables. The presentation was unimpressive - carelessly tossed onto the triangle-shaped plate and looked as though it had been reheated. The salmon was overcooked (not grilled), with little flavor, the vegetables (chopped potatoes, broccoli, & carrots) overcooked, and "mushy". The mashed potatoes were the win on the plate as they were delicious! Bread is an additional charge of $6 for a basket with 4 small sourdough rolls. I should have ordered fish and chips.
Parking: Garage is across the street (Elliott), and there is an elevator.
Kid-friendliness: This is definitely a tourist spot, kid-friendly, and wheelchair accessible.
If you are from out of town and want to enjoy seafood, skip Ivar's. There are plenty of other restaurants with truly fresh, well-prepared, seafood.

We visited Seattle and this was the first place we tried on the pier. Food was very good. Server was very nice. If it wasn't so far we would definitely visit again.

Great food, great view, good happy hour, plenty of space, great service. The only down side is the price but just come over at happy hour.

All the food was delicious, especially the clam chowder, which was soul food. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also full of history and tradition.

The food was okay. Clam chowder was on the sweeter side. Mashed potatoes were okay but got cold fast. We were never asked if we wanted anything else to drink. Place was FREEZING COLD, we shivered the entire meal, and food got cold fast. Tourist trip with okay food and freezer building.

Clam chowder was bland. It didn't really have much clam choices. It's ok but I wouldn't recommend it if you want clams or oysters

Good option for dinner. Went earlier to see the sunset view and was able to get a window seat. Happy hours deals were good as well for drinks and food. Recommend the chowder as well as the mussels. The chowder was creamy with a right texture of tang and sweetness. And the mussels were cooked just right.

Service was fine, the problem was the food. We ordered the Duo Salmon from the specials menu for $34. We got 2 small thin pieces of salmon that were both dry and severely underseasoned. For a well known seafood restaurant, we expected at least decent seafood but was met with subpar food. Maybe it was a bad day, but the food was very disappointing nonetheless.
