Another great find in Seattle. Food, service & ambiance all great. Gave it 4 stars only because the moment we finished desert they asked us to vacate the table. Could have used a few more minutes to enjoy the meal.

I dined at joule 5/7/24 for my birthday and had a bad experience. I wrote a review on open table and have not received an apology. So, I would like to share that aspect of customer service with everyone, and would like you to see my original review. Overall I had a lovely time. I was celebrating a birthday with good company, we came to spend money, eat and drink our way through the menu. Most plates were delicious and thought there was a lot of balance, flavor and freshness to the plates. However I was put in a position where it left me feeling salty towards joule. I am not one to write reviews, but felt the need to publicly share my experience. My issue is regarding their octopus. When we received it, my partner graciously cut it into bite size pieces so it could be served to our table. The first bite was inedible, it was a piece closer to the beak, but was comparable to chewing on a piece of rubber. After chewing on it for about a minute, i was finally able to swallow it. Someone else tried it and complained about the chewiness of it. I tried a smaller piece, to no avail. Either it was not a good product, or it was not cooked properly. All of that said, that experience is not why I'm writing this review. I'm disappointed that when I told my server, they took the plate away and told us they would not refund us for it. I do not fault my server for that, however I do fault the management. It's not behavior conducive to retaining a clientele, and in fact, I will not be returning. As a side note, the 4% service charge is also a little weird. I understand the tipping policy is in a state of change nationally as well as locally. However, it's strange when joule, itself, is retaining those tips. I much rather just give that tip to the employee themselves. I've been apart of a couple class action lawsuits where the service staff sued the employer for behavior similar. If anyone on the service staff ever feels like they are not receiving their fair share of that 4% service charge, I suggest they explore their labor rights.

Joule never fails. It's always delicious. They keep the Joule favorites but add a few new dishes. The staff are professional, helpful and so friendly! Our favorite go to restaurant in Seattle!

This restaurant experience was amazing with lead cook Frank and sous-chef Cera (and Cera is my daughter!) Everything was great from being greeted at the door and the bar excellent drink I had! I ate the delicious salad with Chipotle ranch , Chinese brocoli, the smashed new potatoes, mackerel, delicous fish dish, and Jule box for dessert! I highly recommend this place delicious food and ambiance!!

Go here if you want flavor explosions in your mouth!! Came here for birthday dinner and everything exceeded our expectations. Small and intentional menu. Every ingredient was elevated in the dish and every bite left you wanting more. Loved all the dishes but my favorite was the Adobo lamb, never had anything like that before! Friendly and warm staff.

Easily our favorite restaurant in Seattle. We are foodies and like to try everything we see reviewed well, Joule stands above the rest, every dish is excellent, the flavor combinations are somehow both classic and inventive. Also, Brandie, the manager is just excellent at her job! So friendly, so nice and takes care of every detail of your dining experience.

Came here to celebrate birthday with my friends and were treated well! We were a group of 5 and made a reservation on a weekday. We got a nice table tucked away in the corner of the restaurant, which gave a cozy and intimate vibe. After reading other reviews, I was excited to try the spicy rice cake, smoked tofu, and that short rib steak. They were good, but not mind blowing for me - maybe the reviews hyped it up. However, we did really enjoy the lamb and the mackerel - both were super tender and full of flavor! The squash appetizer was really good as well. To be honest, it was good food but the portions are quite small, especially if you are doing family style with a group of people. We probably got a bite or two of each dish. But they later brought out an Ube ice cream cake for me, which was very nice!

Went out to Joule for dinner last night and the service and ambience were great-5 stars to the hostess and table waiter. Overall, we ordered the beef tartare (excellent), kimchi trio, cold smoked tofu ( excellent), short rib (excellent, but the finishing salt was too heavy), Chinese broccoli ( a little too much liquid and stalks were undercooked), and lastly the charred octopus. The first half of dinner was really great, but the second half fell off. I was really excited about the octopus, but ended with a very chewy entree. The knives were struggling to cut through the tentacles. What a real shame...maybe things were off that night. I will come back, but maybe not order the octopus.

Stand out dishes were the mackerel and smashed potatoes. The Chinese pancake with caviar topping was also delicious. Our server was very attentive and made some great recommendations. Especially for dessert. I was with a group of friends so we were sharing everything and most wanted the pandan coconut cheesecake, I'm not a huge cheesecake fan, but I actually loved it. It was a creative divergence from usual cheesecakes, light, and not too heavy on the coconut flavor, and topped with lychee. Our server suggested pairing with the rhubarb spoon cake, which was served warm, and was equally delicious!

Wow, the food here is amazing. The recommendations and feedback I got from the bartender was mediocre. I was feeling adventurous so asked about the octopus, she compared it to steak... it was a little chewy like I expected but the salty richness of the bacon and greens made for an amazing combination. She didn't think the octopus would have been enough for me so suggested I order something else. I went with the Steak tataki salad, which was great. The basalmic, steak and hearts of palm offsets the sharp taste of the greens. More food than I needed but it was all amazingly delicious. Everything I ordered was fantastic.Parking: Parking is a challenge unless you pay to put it politely.

It's ok, portion size really small.EDIT:Time flies, went again 4 years later, basically everything was excellent, flavor profiles are pretty varied and quality is high.Waiters know their stuff and give good recommendations. Please note that this is more 'tapas style' so small portions to be shares with a group.Note to management:I understand you change your menu often but it's a little misleading when your online menu is quite substantially different then your actual menu, you should figure out a way to easily update your online menu when you update your actual menu, this shouldn't be super expensive to automate and will avoid potential dissapointments, I liked all the food I had but I was really hyped up for some of the items I saw in the online menu.

I've been going to joule for what seems almost a decade. They have consistently impressed me with each visit. I come here to celebrate myself, my marriage, and randomly bc I leave happy and nourished every time. The team is incredible, you can rely on seeing the same faces year over year. This is rare and a testament to their culture. Joule allows for vetted creativity in the menu but understands the staples they do best. Watching the menu shift with the season for freshness, but they keep the fan favorites (rice cakes, smoked tofu, Jalisco campfire). I literally have dreams of the smoked tofu salad. Brunch is an unexpected treat featuring riffs of varying cuisine. However, they stay true to joule flavors and quality. Cheers to the Joule and the team. Thank you for another delicious meal.
