Really good food, got the stewed chicken and the spicy beef, both were tender and delicious.

On M-W-F, during their summer special titled “Sizzling Summer: Where Decibels Devour Dreams”, Kezira morphs into a bass-blasting NIGHTCLUB that makes 1992 Spring Break at Carlos n Charlie’s in Cancun look like a knitting circle. At 10 PM sharp, Kezira cranks the subwoofers to “earthquake simulator” levels. Their Summer Special jams music until 5 AM, because apparently sleep is for losers and the 90s never died. The neighborhood has sent complaints, petitions, and carrier pigeons begging for mercy, but Kezira’s owners are too busy channeling Cancun ‘92 vibes, complete with imaginary bucket hats and flip phones, to care. The staff? When I go over to talk to them, they laugh at me and reply saying things like “It’s Monday, dude, YOLO!” over the sound of DJ GlowStickMcGee dropping beats that could wake a coma patient.

Zero respect for the neighborhood or residents in the community. Playing deep base music at 3:30am on a Monday is ridiculous and disrespectful. People here have been kindly asked to turn down music by multiple residents in late hours 11pm until sometimes 4am. It’s understandable if this were a club. It’s most certainly not. Very tired of taking so many actions, including multiple noise complaints with no end in sight.

Love this community hub. Delicious food. Relaxed atmosphere. Fun place to eat and and just to hang out and drink coffee or cocktails.

Came for dinner, left with tinnitus.

I came to Kezira Restaurant expecting a quiet night of Ethiopian food. What I got was a surprise audition for So You Think You Can Avoid Tinnitus?

Dinner started off alright—cozy vibes, colorful dishes, and injera. Then 10:00 PM struck… and so did the DJ. I'm not exaggerating when I say the music volume jumped from “background ambiance” to “NASA rocket launch.”

Tables started disappearing. Lights began flashing. Some guy in a leather jacket brought a fog machine. My server became a backup dancer. One minute, I'm calmly dipping injera into some heavenly lentils. The next minute—BOOM—a subwoofer explodes in my colon. The lights dim. The DJ appears from behind a curtain (??), and my server is now throwing glow sticks like he's been possessed by the ghost of Ibiza.

By 10:15, I’d seen three people twerk near the sambusas and someone poured honey wine down their friend’s back while making direct eye contact with me. The bar turned into a VIP lounge. The bathroom had a line that looked like it led to Narnia. I tried to leave and got trapped in a dance circle.

Look. I’m not saying don’t go to Kezira. I’m saying go before 9:59 PM or bring a pacemaker. Because the second that clock hits 10, this place says, “Screw the entrees—let’s test the structural integrity of your eardrums.”

Honestly, I respect the hustle. Restaurant by day, full-blown East African discotheque by night. Just… warn a person. I thought I was getting injera. Instead I got jumped by bass drops and regret.

Would not recommend for a first date. Or second. Or anyone with a nervous system.

i ate at this restaurant a week ago, got sick and had to go to the hospital and i was diagnosed with covid-19 and other bacterial diseases. I don't think the health review on this restaurant from the Department of health is authentic.

Brought my family to try Ethiopian cuisine (where they’re from it’s basically non-existent). Not pictured, we also had shiro and coffee. Always order extra injera. Family appreciated the alcohol selection. Everything was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was great.

Delicious food! Large portions at a great price. Really cozy spot with cool art. The veggie combo for two was AMAZING. So was the Kategna with Kibbeh (bread with butter and spices). Will be back!

Amazing little spot. Delicious food at VERY reasonable prices for the quality/quantity. The veggie combo was great, as was the kategna with clarified butter as an appetizer. Such nice people and beautiful atmosphere too. We will definitely be coming back!
