Had a nice Thursday dinner with some friends at this Maiz location. Chips could have been saltier and our entrees could have been a bit spicier, but overall the Mexican food options we tried were tasty. Prices were high (there's a default service charge which is not a tip), and service was ok at best (pretty slow throughout.) But - my margaritas were great and the corn tortillas fantastic.

I got what was labeled as El Huarache from here - which was a masa base spread with beans, flank steak, lettuce, and onions
I haven’t had this before in a Mexican restaurant - in fact - I don’t remember seeing this on a menu before

I do have to say it’s not my favorite menu item, however
I thought the masa base on the bottom was quite bland. It had no real texture beyond being a mush that wasn’t really that pleasant to eat. While I...

I liked the chicken tamales, but I think the gorditas de camarón lacked a lot of flavor. I thought the mole was decent. Service was nice and the store is cute. I’d come back and try some more lunch items.
