Wow! $6 for one empanada!
Too rich for my taste. Guess I have to wait til next visit to LA areas Porto bakery’s $1.65 chicken empanadas. Which actually tastes better.

As authentic argentinian empanadas as anything in Buenos Aires with the atmosphere and friendly service to match. I had the most traditional empanada, the knife cut steak (Lomo) and also a chorizo which is only mildly spicy but super savory. The dough and the fillings are both too notch. Can't wait for them to start serving choripan.

Maria Luisa is our favorite place to go for Argentine empanadas. So many flavors, and we've enjoyed all that we have tried. My favorites are caprese, mushroom and lomo. My (Argentine) husband's favorites are lomo and fugazetta. They're STUFFED generously with fillings that are always nicely seasoned. The chimichurri is plentiful and delicious.

We were fortunate to live nearby and made a friday night ritual out of empanadas followed by either chocotorta...
