I like the vibes/decor/atmosphere here, and the Taiyaki ice cream cone was great. I ordered an ube + vanilla twist on the Taiyaki cone. Portions are small for the cost, though, and the ube flavor doesn't stand out much from the vanilla. My daughter ordered a matcha drink with strawberry and said it was really good. Overall, nice place to get ice cream with a Taiyaki element to it.
I have limited experience with Taiyaki, but I admit I enjoyed the Taiyaki empanadas (right term?) at Beanfish at the Seattle Uwajimaya food couret more. Reason being, when the Taiyaki is hot and fresh (in the context of an empanada), it tastes great. But when you use the hot Taiyaki as an ice cream cone, it melts the ice cream and so you have to eat the ice cream rather quickly because it's dripping and melting. So just being honest, it seems like Taiyaki + ice cream doesn't entirely work, unless the Taiyaki is cold and then it tastes pretty much the same as a waffle cone, right?
It has been years since I first went to a Matcha Man pop up. The store front is great. Everyone there was so happy and friendly, but of course they were happy because they were eating delicious ice cream! We had both the matcha and ube. I added red bean at the bottom of my cone and my friend added a caramel drizzle to hers. The waffle cones were freshly made and warm. You had to eat quickly though or it would melt! There was a line out the door when we first got there, but it went quickly. What a great treat!
We are from Alaska stopped in for a sweet treat. Service was A 1 thank you. To all the haters. Sorry you feel that way. Be glad you can get ice-cream. Ir what ever.
Shout out to Max, Ezekiel, and Ariana! On 07/18 the shop was closing for the evening but they accommodated us with very friendly service and info about the menu since their screens had shut down for the evening. Kudos!
Macha ice cream is so good!
I also recommend trying Ube ice cream
Matcha Man is the best! Their vegan soft serve is my favorite treat in Seattle.
Great ice cream and I love that you can get taiyaki as well
Come for the ice cream, stay for the sakura matcha latte.
i was really excited to try their black sesame soft serve... maybe my expectation was too high but it was very underwhelming. very sweet and tasted more like a vanilla soft serve.
Took a 1 day break from my diet today lol and went to the best ice cream shop in the city. I Would highly recommend them and really recommend taking your children here. They are very friendly and the ice cream is GREAT.

Very good pineapple ice cream and a cute little shop. It is a little pricey but the service of the employees and the taste of the ice cream is really good.
The matcha desserts taste good and price isn’t terrible. My only problem with the food is that the Taiyaki you can order has very little filling. You even pay $0.25 or so specifically for the filling rather than an empty shell.
Parking feels a little sketchy honestly. I would come back here but I wouldn’t leave anything valuable shown in my car!
My new favorite dessert spot! We got the matcha and black seasme swirl with ube custard filling. Even my husband who is not a dessert fan loves this place.
As a big fan of Taiyaki and other Japanese desserts, I had high hopes for this spot and really wanted to like it. Sadly, it did not live up to the hype or my expectations. I got the matcha/black sesame twist in a taiyaki box. To me, the best part of this dessert is a warm, fresh fish waffle — this one was room temp and had probably been sitting a while, which was very disappointing. On top of that, the two soft serve flavors I got—which are pretty distinct flavors—tasted identical, both were just extremely sweet. Also, the topping portions were less than generous. It was more like a whisper of Oreo dust rather than crushed Oreos.
For 20 bucks for two people, I recommend going somewhere else.
The ice cream is good, but the self ordering system makes the whole experience detached and awkward
