Matsu Service is outstanding! Our server Christa is the best! Food is fresh, love their Pike Place Roll, Salads!
Our favorite place in Seattle! Green Decadence is my fave, and our group loved all of the different sushi we ordered!
We had a great mix of happy hour appetizers, but we were disappointed in the omakase nigiri sushi medium combo. $60, 12 pieces, and the fish pieces were small. Not good value. Should have gotten specialty rolls ...
Matsu has an unassuming exterior but inside provides a pleasant environment for dining. We arrived during an evening when there was an event at Lumen Field and that turned out to be a bit of an issue as it was challenging finding parking. Not the fault of the restaurant, just advice to people thinking of coming to this restaurant when a game or event is on. The sushi was delicious and fresh, and there were a number of raw bar specials that my daughter sampled and enjoyed. I had the Omakase $40 sushi selection and was enjoyed the sushi very much. We also like the karaage appetizer. My only challenges were that it took some time to get our order in and we felt rushed at dinner - again, more the fault of having trouble finding parking than of the restaurant. And it was pretty noisy, so hard to have a conversation. Next time I might look to one of Matsu's sister restaurants, just for the ease of getting there.
Overpriced for what it is. If you're going to spend a decent amount money on sushi, there are better places.
Food was served cold and when we mentioned the temperature the waiter said “oh that's interesting “ No apologies or offers to address it. We won't be going back
My family and I went to enjoy a meal together and to visit. We drove an hour to get there. It was so worth it!! The food was excellent and they had gluten free options with gluten free soy sauce! The service was probably the best we've experienced in the area! The staff were professional and kind. We never had an empty glass, which means a lot to me. We stayed longer than we should have visiting with our sons and we felt welcomed!! (Some restaurants in the area give you an hour, hour n half depending on your party size and ask you to leave). The staff even continued to fill our water glasses! Afterwards we walked around the street with all the decorative lights and statues. It was a great experience! Definitely will go to Matsu's again for a great meal with our family.
Went for the omakase and had a terrible experience with it. Out of all of the omakase I've had this was the worst and still one of the more expensive dinners I've had. It had the same fish that you usually get with it but all of it was fishy, bitter and chewy so just over all not good. I will say that their sushi rolls were fine if that is what you are going for.
Excellent sushi at reasonable prices. Beautiful space and good service. Highly recommend.

A funny thing happened on the way to the forum…or rather sushi restaurant. Originally planned to go somewhere different but arrived a little too late and the kitchen had closed. However, they recommended I go to Matsu which was nearby. I followed their recommendation trusting that locals know best and I was happy I did. Went for the omakase and king crab tower and was not disappointed. Service was excellent and I really enjoyed the vibe on a cold and rainy night. Felt warm and inviting. All thanks to a friendly bartender and his great recommendation!

Best sushi ever—so fresh and so many great dishes. Also, quick service despite a Hawks pregame and super friendly staff too. The manager found us a spot and also came back a few minutes after we got settled it to give us two sets of practice chopsticks (that she made on the fly) so my kids could practice and use when our food came out. Everything was 5/5.

The food and drinks were very good. I accidentally ordered too much sushi! We went before an event at WAMU and I appreciate that they asked if we were going and made sure we had our food with plenty of time to eat.
