We’ve come here many times and have always had the same server who was nothing but amazing. We had someone else tonight, and before I start, im a server, i know how it is. Our server took our drink order got our food and got me another drink while dropping it off and then never spoke to us again and sat on her phone and ate right next to our table (we were also the only table in the dining room) My girlfriend wanted another drink and was just gonna wait but then after 40 minutes of her on her phone and eating and having my girlfriend push her dirty dishes to the edge so she’d notice we were ready to head out, we watched her say goodnight to the bartender and leave. Never communicated she was transferring her table or if we needed anything else. We waited another 10 minutes but I wanted to leave so i made my partner go up and ask the bartender to get our bill. If he had the table transferred to him all he had to do was just check and see if we were still doing okay and we just would’ve said we needed a box and our check. I understand if you’re busy and i’d never be upset about that but as a server it takes 20 seconds to ask if we’re doing okay. Super disappointing because we’ve never had a bad experience since tonight.):
Bar Staff was rude as hell told me it cost a dollar to fill up my water got a dollar to get the water then refused to fill up my water
I love coming here. The food is delicious and the service is always great. We were caught in a bit of a downpour walking through the Arboretum so we came in to McGilvra's and they so kindly sat us near the fireplace and turned it on for us. In May. Things were nice and toasty as we enjoyed our drinks and food.
Great food and service.
What a nice little place. The weather was perfect to sit outside and enjoy the view of the lake. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was very good!
Been going to this spot for years for some evening relaxation. Really solid HH options, and check those specials when you can. Meatloaf sandwich is really tasty, burger is a great portion, and the draft selection is perfect.
The Reuben sandwich is delicious. I swear I could taste the fresh knife cuts in the corned beef this last time i ordered it. It's hot and a bit messy which makes it that much better. We've been here twice and that's the only item I've ordered so far. It's good enough that I'm not ready to try anything else yet. The kids menu Mac & cheese was also delicious, evidenced by the fact the picky toddler ate every noodle. I also appreciate that they have crayons in a cool cup and a coloring menu for the littles.
My girlfriend visited from New York and we decided to randomly go here. AWESOME!!!! We had late night drinks, the bartender and servers were so friendly and courteous. Very friendly customers also. No "weird" vibes or creepy dudes we usually get as two women out on the town drinking in Seattle. Lots of sports on the TVs, not our thing but we stayed for 2 hours because they had very reasonable and good drinks AND food. Everything and everybody was so chill.
Thanks for making her night memorable! We plan on coming back! Thanks McGilvra's!

We had a delightful lunch with family at McGilvra's Bar and Restaurant. They were able to seat our party of 8 on a Saturday at noon despite making a late reservation.
Our party had the Fish and Chips, Mussels, Cob Salad, Pizza, and Fish Tacos. There were no leftovers, so you know everything was delicious. Our server Kristen was helpful and friendly, even shooting a really nice picture of us.

First I had the two mini burgers and very crispy, textured fries. A good amount of fries. The service was a little slow but overall good. Nice atmosphere, right near Madison Beach. Got a watermelon margarita slushee, pretty good kind of small. And a large 14" pizza, pepperoni, very nice crust. Calm, interesting architecture. Came during happy hour I got only three things but my bill was kind of pricey being 51 before tipping. Also receipt had no break down of prices which was odd but overall a enjoyable place. But kind of higher end price wise. Came in around 5pm.

The food here is the best American food in Madison Park. They go the extra mile on every dish and it shows. The fries are great, my favorite thing is the chicken bacon ranch wrap, but the Cuban sandwich is my other favorite, but tbh I’ve never had anything bad here!
