A group went to celebrate my daughter's birthday, let's say the food was delish and the drinks were amazing. What topped it off was the great service. I will be returning.

Delicious rolls and noodles! 12th Ave roll and the yakisoba noodles were amazing and definitely a favorite from our group. The noodles were spicy and very flavorful. The 12th Ave roll was delicious with shrimp tempura and spicy tuna. We also ordered the Madison roll but weren’t huge fans of it. Other things we ordered were the miso soup, rainbow roll, and the crunchy cali roll. Service was great and the food came out fast. We also ordered the jasmine tea and hibiscus berry tea. The center garden area in the restaurant is beautiful and the overall ambiance is very calm and inviting. Overall a great dinner!

Sushi lovers, do not be fooled by the California roll or gyoza on the menu. This is a legitimate sushi restaurant with outstanding sushi. The freshness and taste are unrivaled. A true haven for sushi purists! (As well as a great spot for California rolls:)

One of the best Japanese restaurants in town as far as menu composition and the amount of options that you can get. Get your order delivered though because the vibe of this place went downhill several years ago as Capitol Hill gentrified. You've got the new tech bro crowd and the service that lets you know you're an inconvenience. So anyway on your doordash order go ahead and get the Enoki mushroom appetizer because it's the best thing ever and the panko fried oysters are fantastic. My favorite roll has always been the Extreme Tarantula but it's better without the included sauce so you can just use Wasabi and soy sauce. Instead of dessert just get the Tropical Paradise roll which is so good with mangoes and blueberries.

My visit to the restaurant left me with mixed feelings. Despite the delectable food, the overall experience fell short due to subpar service. As a first-time patron, I relied on a friend's recommendation, expecting a smooth dining experience. However, upon arrival, the bustling atmosphere and overwhelmed staff made it apparent that the evening might not unfold as expected.Given the restaurant's busyness and my solo status, the staff suggested I occupy a bar table rather than a spot in the main dining area. Wanting to accommodate their request, I agreed, unaware that this meant I wouldn't have a designated waiter attending to my needs. Consequently, I found myself feeling neglected and relegated to a forgotten corner of the establishment. While the food undoubtedly impressed with its flavor and presentation, the lack of attentive service detracted significantly from the overall enjoyment of the meal. Throughout my visit, I struggled to catch the attention of staff members for even the most basic requests, leaving me feeling isolated and overlooked. In essence, while the culinary offerings at the restaurant were commendable, the disjointed service experience left much to be desired. Hopefully, the establishment can address these issues to ensure a more seamless and satisfying dining experience for future patrons.

Impressive sushi menu with a big shoutout to the vegetarian crowd with an extensive veg sushi section. I enjoyed the spicy crab soup (though wrestling with the shell was a bit awkward), seaweed salad and a classic tempura roll. My table had a variety of veg rolls and fish, all beautifully presented. Complimentary edamame was a nice touch, and the refreshing lychee lemonade can be requested as less sweet. The design and decor is centered around a lovely garden that can be viewed through picture windows. Service is efficient and friendly but it is so noisy and busy that I am glad we didn't need to flag our server down. If you want to enjoy dinner conversation, this is probably not the place. We made reservations, which I definitely recommend. This place is popular!

The basic sushi rolls like the Seattle were tasty, but the specialty rolls disappointed in terms of price/quality. Each roll I had was cut poorly: some pieces were very thin, leaving others over twice the usual thickness of a sushi piece. The central garden is a lovely view!

This place has now become etched in my memory, and it has from now on become an absolute must visit spot during every visit to Seattle. Simple indoor decor that feels like any other Japanese place, but once the food starts to roll in, you are in for an explosion of flavor bursting inside your mouth and making all your senses come to life. Remember the movie Ratatouille and the scene with the cheese + grape = fireworks in the mouth situation? That’s what’s going to happen to you.Our server was Landin, and I want to recommend him to everyone. He did an exceptional job, and the entire time he helped us with a huge smile on his face. His recommendations were not only welcome, but they were absolutely on point. Each recommendation made the meal better and better. We started out with an out of this world appetizer of seasonal mushrooms on a bed of spinach. Simplicity at its finest, and yet it had so much umami and fragrant flavor. It was so tasty that I began to dip my pickled ginger in the juices of my appetizer just to keep savoring the ridiculous flavor. We then tried the toro (fatty tuna belly) nigiri and the yellowtail sashimi. Oh my God. The toro was basically butter. The moment you place it in your mouth it just dissolves. And the yellowtail was so tender, so pure in its simplicity, and so sweet. It was literally sweet. Just these three menu items alone were some of the best foods I’ve ever eaten, but then Landin came with some recommendations. We had a salmon sushi roll which was great, but nothing extraordinary, but then came the best sushi roll I’ve ever had in my life. It was a roll with spicy tuna inside, yellowtail on the outside with shishito peppers over it and a squeeze of lime on top as well. The spicy tuna and sweet yellowtail blended so incredibly well, and just that hint of lime is actually what made the whole thing pop in your mouth and take it to another dimension. It was a genius sushi roll combination. After that we had black snapper sashimi which was slightly more rubbery than the yellowtail but also, so sweet. These sashimi were the best I’ve ever had.We thought we’d had enough until Landin came back, asking us if we’d be willing to top it off with another one of his favorites. We obliged. It was just a spoonful. One spoon filled with things that don’t seem to go together: truffle oil, salmon roe, a quail egg. And honestly I’ve never had anything runny like that. But that was the spoonful that had me on the verge of tears…of happiness. When I put that spoon in my mouth, all of those seemingly irrelevant flavors melted together to create a true work of art. It was as if I went to space and came back to earth, in an instant. Seriously…there was a pop and burst of bold flavors in my mouth that just…worked. It was the most incredible spoonful I’ve ever had, and it was slightly sweet, slightly tangy, slightly salty - all at once. It was the absolute perfect end to one of the most incredible and delicious meals I’ve ever had.Thank you Landin for the impeccable service, and I will definitely come back every single time I’m in this city. Thank you.

Menu had designated gluten free options (I have celiac disease). I had the crispy calamari, Philadelphia roll, four kings roll, and panda roll. The four kings roll was my favorite. Staff were very attentive and accommodating to my dietary needs. Be sure to communicate any allergies to your server. They had gluten free soy sauce upon request as well. This sushi was by far the freshest sushi I had ever tasted, very delicious. Food presentation was amazing. Cocktails were also very good. I got a lavender haze, mai tai, and pineapple mojito. Next time I'm in the Seattle area, I'll be sure to hit up Momiji for some more great sushi.
