What a great surprise! I love Italian but don’t get to enjoy it often as there’s not many places that provide that true authentic Italian dining experience. But Mondello is it. My wife and I stopped in for lunch after walking at Discovery Park. As soon as we walked in, i knew we were going to be in for a treat. Counter full of fresh baked bread, auntie in the thick framed glasses, everyone speaking Italian to each other and the decor that brought everything together. The food, service and atmosphere was great and we can’t wait to make it back to try all the other items. We did the lasagne, squid ink pasta and clams this time around and all were hitters. See yall soon!

It was one of the best cooked Halibut I ever had!!! I ordered from the Today’s Specials menu and I’m so glad I did! It had a lovely Halibut and great fettuccini pasta to pair with it. My compliments to the chef!

This is such a gem in Magnolia. I feel like I am at a restaurant in Sicily with the most delicious food, amazing atmosphere and beautiful energy from the family who owns and works here. Sofana, the owner, is passionate about her food and family. Felt like a vacation! Highly recommend this restaurant.

We ate at Mondello for the first time during Restaurant Week, and overall, we had a great experience. I had the chicken in mushroom marsala sauce, and it was excellent. My companion had the meatballs and pasta and loved that, as well. We asked for help pairing the wine with the meal, and we were both very happy with the suggestions. The desserts were delicious, and the decaf cappuccino was lovely. (The only reason I didn't give the food a 5 was because the first thing we had was bread, and it was underwhelming, not fresh. I like bread, so that was disappointing. I know, underwhelming bread at restaurants is not uncommon.) But the chicken dish was so delicious that I will definitely return for that alone. We enjoyed the low-key atmosphere, and it was easy to talk and be heard.
If you want to feel like you're in Sicily, look no further than Mondelo's. Delicious food and bevis, top notch service from the dynamic mother/daughter duo! It feels like home, they always remember our name, no matter how long between visits.
10/10 Italian food! The bread is to die for and it's impossible to just get one order. The meatballs as a starter were perfect and had some of the best sauce I've had.
Another excellent birthday dinner at Mondello! The food and service are consistently great.

It's very rare to have squid ink fettuccine in Italian restaurants these days, and this one nailed it!!

Perfect small Italian restaurant. Authentic food and kind staff, especially Ava! We were in Italy last fall, and this pasta was better than the pasta there! We also had a pistachio cheese cake that was light, fluffy, and incredible. The only thing that has scratched my itch for pistachio desserts since Italy. The cake is not pictured because it was too good to wait a moment for a photo!

This place was honestly a great find. The food tasted super fresh and really authentic, not the usual Italian-style but the real thing. You can tell they care about the ingredients and how everything is made.
The pasta was amazing. Perfectly cooked, great flavor, and just one of those dishes you keep eating even when you’re already full. The Branzino was also perfect, crispy, well-seasoned, and paired really well with pesto pasta and vegetables.
The vibe is cozy and relaxed, not fancy or pretentious, just a really comfortable place to enjoy a good meal.
Definitely one of those spots you want to come back to.
