Wonderful food, a lovely atmosphere, and fantastic waitstaff! Nell's was a fabulous destination for a birthday dinner! My husband was very pleased.
The food was better than ever and we loved our server. The black cod was cooked to perfection and the presentation was first rate. Thankful to have Nell's in our community.
Nell's is always a real treat! This week's Restaurant Week menu was no exception. The four of us all had different things and found them scrumptious. The waiter was fun and good at his job. We had a great night out.
We love this local and long-standing neighborhood establishment. The food and ambiance is superb and we appreciate the consistency and quality.
A great place for special occasions. It has become increasingly popular over the last few years.
We went for restauarant week and were pleased with the service and food. The cocktails were great and the food very well presented and prepared. The lamb and steak were both perfectly cooked and the waldorf salad was a surprise. It had the perfect amount of dressing and complimenting texture. The wait staff were all attentive, knowlegable, and personable. We really enjoyed our time. Ambiance is a little old school Seattle, which also contributed to it's appeal. It's defnately not a modern fast pace vibe. Considering all the restaurants in Seattle, it made enough of an impression that we would go back.
The food is outstanding, service attentive, and ambiance quiet. If you want a place to have an engaging conversation it is perfect
We had a wonderful evening! It's been over 30 years since returning to Nells. It is just as good or better than I remember. I love the white linens as most upscale restaurants in Seattle have done away with those. All the food was fantastic, the server Skye was funny, helpful and had fantastic recommendations. The wine list is great! Lots of really excellent wines. We had two red burgundy bottles 125-190 respectively. Really delicious, paired great with the food. The desserts, butterscotch pudding, chocolate tart were yummy. The carrot cake was not very good but not the worst. That was the only item that wasn't very good. We did one tasting menu, all items were delicious. We had the shigoku oysters were fresh and the mignonette was so tasty. The steak was cooked perfectly and a very tasty cut of meat. The black cod was marinated and cooked perfectly. Really everything was just yummy. The cheese plate could have been a little more and was cut up in small pieces, that's a bit strange. Very little item to complain about. The atmosphere is quiet and very comfortable. We will definitely be back.
Nell's is my go to for special occasions and anytime I want to escape this beautiful oasis in my neighborhood. The food is consistently delicious, I am treated like royalty.
We always have a wonderful time at Nell's, and the food is always delicious and beautifully prepared. Last night, for example, the oysters were fresh and beautifully shucked. And the watermelon gazpachos with basil and feta was amazing! Service is always impecccable.

The entire experience at Nell's is delightful! They take time to get to know the guests at each table, making everyone feel special and welcome. Repeat guests are treated like old friends. The dining space is elegant, with linen napkins and tablecloths. Plates and cutlery are replaced unobtrusively after each course. And the food! Each dish is perfectly seasoned and carefully plated. The tender, pillowy pasta, filled with herbed ricotta, arrived atop a silky reduction of mushrooms. The calamari, crumb-coated and gently sautéd rather than deep-fried, was delightfully tender despite its crunchy exterior. And the salmon, with its shatteringly crispy skin yet meltingly perfect flesh, sat atop two contrasting swirls of color and flavor, a smooth and earthy root vegetable purée and a bright huckleberry sauce. My only regret was waiting 25 years to visit this gem of a restaurant on the shores of Green Lake!
Always shocked this place isn't more packed. Have been going here for years and food and service surpass most other similar price point restaurants in Seattle. Always love Nell's.
I was recommended this place when I was searching for a quiet restaurant. It was wonderful. So nice to have a conversation without having to yell across the table. And the food was perfection. It was so delicious we immediately swore we would be back. Service was lovely too.

The food was excellent! Both my wife and I rave about our appetizers, dinner and deserts. Nell's changes their menu daily so I don't know when or if they will have the following again, but if they do I recommend you try these. Appetizers: Onion Tart will sunchoke chips Mushroom risotto Dinner; Halibut Duck Breast Desert: Peach Crisp with Almond ice cream
The food is consistently good. They have a nice wine list, parking is convenient, and it is one of the few restaurants that is quiet enough to talk without yelling. I highly recommend Nell's for a great dinner. They also have a nice tasting menu that changes weekly.
