Overall it was a very nice experience, food was good but there is room for improvement; some dishes were better than others, restaurant feels very dated in its decor and food presentation in the dish is very basic. The servers are all outstanding and very friendly.
We always enjoy eating at Nells; the food is delicious and the atmosphere quiet and subdued so you can carry on a conversation at your table. The menu changes regularly but there are always a few favorites that remain, like the onion tart! Excellent wine list as well.
Went for New Year's Eve for the pre fixe meal. It was annoying that a couple of the options were additional costs. I didn't care for the chocolate banana dessert but my biggest complaint is that we felt very rushed. A $500 dinner should last more than an hour and 15 minutes. No breaks in between courses. Our waiter did seem annoyed that I ordered a non alcoholic beverage too. Not everyone drinks alcohol! I would have ordered a fancy mocktail but there were none on the menu except their house-made lemonade. We have been here many times over the years and this could be the last time.
We attended the special New Year's Eve dinner at Nell's. Food was outstanding. Balanced delicious and the multiple courses were served with great timing. Skye with whom we have dined in the past once again provided wonderful service,.Even with a fairly large crowd noise level was sufficient to carry on conversations and just enjoy the ambiance. We have never had a bad evening at Nell's.
Wonderful food, a lovely atmosphere, and fantastic waitstaff! Nell's was a fabulous destination for a birthday dinner! My husband was very pleased.
The food was better than ever and we loved our server. The black cod was cooked to perfection and the presentation was first rate. Thankful to have Nell's in our community.
We were here for a private party. For taking over the entire restaurant, and meals all at basically the same time, the service was great! The staff handle the event as true professionals. Our wine glasses were kept full, as well as the water glasses.
I had the steak and veggies, while my better half had the mushroom risotto. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The steak was prepared spectacularly, medium rare with a light sauce and pre cut into large slices.
The risotto perfectly cooked.
We cannot say enough about the onion tart! If you don't try it you will regret it!

Nell's is always a real treat! This week's Restaurant Week menu was no exception. The four of us all had different things and found them scrumptious. The waiter was fun and good at his job. We had a great night out.
We love this local and long-standing neighborhood establishment. The food and ambiance is superb and we appreciate the consistency and quality.
A great place for special occasions. It has become increasingly popular over the last few years.

We went for restauarant week and were pleased with the service and food. The cocktails were great and the food very well presented and prepared. The lamb and steak were both perfectly cooked and the waldorf salad was a surprise. It had the perfect amount of dressing and complimenting texture. The wait staff were all attentive, knowlegable, and personable. We really enjoyed our time. Ambiance is a little old school Seattle, which also contributed to it's appeal. It's defnately not a modern fast pace vibe. Considering all the restaurants in Seattle, it made enough of an impression that we would go back.
The food is outstanding, service attentive, and ambiance quiet. If you want a place to have an engaging conversation it is perfect
We had a wonderful evening! It's been over 30 years since returning to Nells. It is just as good or better than I remember. I love the white linens as most upscale restaurants in Seattle have done away with those. All the food was fantastic, the server Skye was funny, helpful and had fantastic recommendations. The wine list is great! Lots of really excellent wines. We had two red burgundy bottles 125-190 respectively. Really delicious, paired great with the food. The desserts, butterscotch pudding, chocolate tart were yummy. The carrot cake was not very good but not the worst. That was the only item that wasn't very good. We did one tasting menu, all items were delicious. We had the shigoku oysters were fresh and the mignonette was so tasty. The steak was cooked perfectly and a very tasty cut of meat. The black cod was marinated and cooked perfectly. Really everything was just yummy. The cheese plate could have been a little more and was cut up in small pieces, that's a bit strange. Very little item to complain about. The atmosphere is quiet and very comfortable. We will definitely be back.

I visited from Canada and was blown away by the quality of the food and its preparation. This place is a hidden gem. Very quiet and relaxing. The food was outstanding.
