Ordered the Caribbean Roast Sandwich. Pork was very juicy but the onions and jalapeño thickness made it very difficult to keep the sandwich together. The onions also are not completely caramelized, they are still white with some caramelized edges and when the onions are 1.5 inch petals it’s crazy to call them caramelized. For $17 they could definitely put in more effort for this proclaimed “best sandwich in America”.
Been eating at the fremont location for years and we decided to go to the SODO location 02.21.2026 around 3pm. Have to say i was pretty disappointed with the service. The young man working the register offered no greeting and just stared at my party until we ordered , lazily took our orders and couldn’t be bothered to clearly speak the order total (i had to stretch to see what the screen said). A great location - perfect for pregaming before a game at one of the stadiums. On non-game days, there’s tons of free street parking and a small lot in front.
The food never disappoints. The saucy goodness of the Caribbean Roast sandwich is a delicious mess with a kick of jalapeños. The fries are spiced and perfect with the aioli. Portions are big and worth the price!
