HORRIBLE SERVICE Sat for more then 15 min before getting only water! Walked out and they don't care about the patrons. People next to us were ready to leave as well! Don't let the pictures fool you DO NOT GO! Won't let me give 0 stars or we would have!
I was on a short visit in Seattle, and a friend recommend me that place as wine professional. Not disappointed, really love the wine list selection, the idea of offering duo to compare and taste different wines. Staff was knowledgeable, help me when I had questions, but also let me enjoy my own time. Food was excellent and a good value. I sat at the bar, as a solo dinner that was for me ideal.
The mushroom pasta was well decorated and tasted nice. The same goes for other food items. The dessert tiramisu was delicious. The service was excellent. it has nice views.
Food was average at best, service was extremely slow. Ambience was nice and great location.
Great location. Parking close by and inexpensive. The food was so good that we ended up hurting ourselves to enjoy the tiramisu !! So worth it!!
I only get back to Seattle a few times a year. It was so nice to have dinner at one of my all time favorite places!
Really enjoyed it. The turnout was perfect, the service was top notch and the food was most appealing!!! My final complaint was that the restaurant was very cold and halfway through dinner I found myself having to put my skirt back on. The steak was perfect and the cream crackers were delicious as was the cheese! An added portion of cheese would have been good for the price and maybe some grapes.
Great food, great wine, great service, ATTITUDE, but hard to get people to our table with long waits between service visits... Also, the place is WAY too noisy hard to carry on a conversation. Still love the place and will go back
Late afternoon/early dinner with my parents who were visiting from out of town but have repeatedly wanted to visit Purple - they loved the food, the experience and the service. We always love visiting Purple for nice dinners and special occasions, but it was great to share with them!
Always a pleasure to eat at Purple! My wife and I had dinner there before a show; horrendous traffic meant we were late for our reservation (we'd called on the way to alert the restaurant) but we were seated promptly and the attentive service (thank you, Tobias) kept the pacing just right to get us to the show on time. We had the lamb chops and pork chop; both were exceptional, very tasty and perfectly cooked, although some of my wife's asparagus accompaniment was tough and fibrous, the only disappointment. She had the recommended pairing of a glass of Malbec, which was very good but could have been a little fruitier to match the lamb better. I had a pair of gewurztraminers - a great idea, Purple offers several wines as Duos for comparison - and both were excellent, the lighter one pairing perfectly with the dandelion/peach salad, the slightly heavier one perfect with the pork. Purple's not inexpensive by any means, but the quality is outstanding.

My wife and I had a night out, the first in a long time! Purple met every expectation for a special meal before the theater (Funny Girl). Our waitperson, Alfonso, was attentive and planned our servings so we had enough time to enjoy our meal AND to get to the Paramount. We were enjoying ourselves so much, and the food and drink were so delicious, that I forgot to watch the time. But, Alfonso DIDN'T! He politely asked if we would like to see the dessert menu or the bill so that we could get to the theater without having to rush! THANK YOU ALFONSO! We thoroughly enjoyed the Charcuterie Board and the entrees Seared King Salmon and Chicken Romano. My wife enjoyed the wine pairings. My Martini was excellent. Thank you Purple and staff who made the first part of our evening so memorable! We look forward to returning!
We love Purple so much. The Seattle location is very special too. Beautiful setting and steps from Benaroya Hall. Enjoyed many of our favorites and amazing wine, champagne and service. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening.
The apps and wine were delicious. Entrees were off the mark. The cassoulet and steak entrees were not very good and we had an issue with the total from another table being charged instead of our bill. They forgot my dessert and after dinner wine order... which was fine ... felt ready to go at that point The restaurant is gorgeous hope the food improves next time
We popped in for a quick bite and were quickly shown to our table. Unfortunately it was then 30 minutes til our shared plates arrived. No apology for our wait was offered and no one came to check our food was ok - which it was! Indeed we were pretty much ignored until we caught someone's attention to bring the check. So good good, service non existent! A shame!
We went back to Purple for the first time in around 5 years. It used to be a family favorite, but after the Kirkland and Bellevue locations closed, we stopped going. Our experience at the Seattle restaurant 2 days ago was very disappointing. We waited over an hour for our appetizers to be served. When I asked the waiter what was taking so long, he didn't answer, disappeared into the kitchen then came back with a bowl of tomato soup (that I hadn't ordered) and placed it in front of me. When the appetizers eventually arrived, one was wrong and was sent back. Our main dishes arrived soon after the starters and most were very disappointing. The lamb chops were overcooked, the pesto pasta was not very tasty, and the falafel burger was inedible. Only the beef hamburgers received positive reviews. The waiter didn't ask why 4 of the 6 plates he picked up looked like they had hardly been touched. Overall this was one of the worst dinners we've eaten out in Seattle in recent memory. Sadly I can't see us ever going back to Purple Cafe again.
