Rupee is always a superb experience. We come here at least twice a month, and love it each time! Wonderful food. Terrific service. Great atmosphere and design, and yummy cocktails. The fresh naan and dal plus mint chutney are amazing, the fish is excellent, the shank (pork and lamb) is outstanding, so are the salads and veggie dishes. Highly recommended ♥️

Most of the food is very good but I did get an upset stomach after, as an IBS person. Your mileage may vary depending on your tolerance.

Fried chicken: Absolutely fantastic and the sauce that went with it was phenomenal. If you get anything here, get this.
Green beans: these were good but I don't think I'd get them again
Corn/tomato/paneer/sardines: an inventive and flavorful side dish
Naan: flavorless and brittle. Skip it
Melon: complex flavors and refreshing, but the chili oil put me into a coughing fit
Cocktails: very drinkable and well composed

Nice decor and atmosphere. The bathroom was also very accessible handicap wise.

This place really is special. We had numerous vegetable dishes, fried chicken, black cod and four drinks. Everything had complex and exciting flavors. Everything was good but some things were better. Standout drinks were the gimlet and the Indian tonic with sherry. All of the vegetable dishes and the chicken were great. Next time I might skip the black cod, it is a small portion with mild flavors that did not quite compete with the other dishes. Our server was fantastic as were all the other staff backing him up. It’s an attractive space full of interesting people. Overall well worth it.

Went for dinner. The food was small plates and shareable. The naan and dhal were very authentic, bhel puri was tasty, blistered corn was really good, whipped paneer was interesting and good, chat was pretty good, mutton role was fireee esp with the chutney, and fried chicken was juicy. I don’t like prawn but it was pretty good in the curry. Overall really good and def would come back.

We had high hopes for Rupee Bar but walked away underwhelmed.

Cocktails: My duck fat-infused whiskey cocktail was actually quite good—rich and well-balanced. Unfortunately, my wife’s turmeric-forward drink missed the mark. It had an overpowering earthy flavor that didn’t harmonize well.

Food:
• Naan was flavorless and undercooked on top, with a doughy texture and little to no seasoning or fat.
• Green beans themselves were cooked properly, but the sauce they were served with tasted oddly like chunky toothpaste. The overall dish lacked spice and depth of flavor.
• Fried chicken was a major miss—tough, overcooked, and coated in burnt batter. It seemed pan-fried with little finesse, and the accompanying masala was barely noticeable. The yogurt didn’t do much to save it.
• Potatoes were completely burnt and lacked any crispness or seasoning. We didn’t eat them and weren’t charged, which was appreciated.

Overall, the experience was disappointing. For the price and reputation, the execution and flavor just weren’t there.

Found my new go-to! Everything we tried there was delicious. Especially the naan, which was crispy around the edges and fluffy on the inside. Can't wait to go back there again! 😋

22% service charge added to all bills. Why the bait and switch? Why not just be honest with prices upfront, increase all prices on the menu by 22% and not ask for a tip? Nobody likes it.

Stopped in for Happy Hour at Rupee. Now—we are Rupee Groupies!!! Had 4 small plates, dessert (the Love Cake), and chai, as well as a craft mango and lemon soda and a ginger beer. This is possibly the best meal we have had in Seattle in some time! The entire meal was like a symphony of flavors, each adding a distinct character and together, like heavenly music. We will be BACK! Thank you so much Rupee! #RupeeGroupies
