Good food and drink. A 22% non-negotiable service fee is insane.

The food is fantastic, but expensive, but that’s a nice restaurant for ya. There is a flat 22% gratuity rate which is pretty high. My only complaint is the waitress we had tonight was quite rude- haven’t experienced wait staff being that rude in a while. She misinterpreted what we said and responded unkindly. There are many other reviews saying the same. Management should talk to staff about this. It’s too nice of a place to have service that makes you want to leave.

This place has some staples. It’s unfortunate to see the price gouging that’s happening. They also had a unique cocktail from the past that I was trying to remember, when I ask about it with some descriptions provided the bartender didn’t even want to entertain what it could have been. He was someone who had made that drink a few times for me in the past lol. Overall, this is one of my favorite spots, I’ve had some personable bar tenders and the music is great.

Been coming here for years and food and service were always stellar but my last couple of visits the service has been an issue, not respectful, not attentive, not polite. We came in last week on a not very busy night , the server did not bother with a hello and pointed to a table, dropped of the menus in silence, spilled the water on the table, my plate and napkin while pouring it but did not think it should be wiped dry and wet napkin replaced. He messed up our order 3 times bringing a dish no one ordered, not bringing a dish that was ordered and then saying he forgot to put it in and then saying he is unsure what the third item we ordered was… all these issues were not corrected on the bill before it came to our table…. I love this restaurant and would hate for it to fall out of our rotation due to lack of staff training and oversight.

we showed up to a packed house but there was one table left on their heated patio. it was fine for 50°, but any coupler would not be pleasant.

the staff are great and so are the drinks. you can tell they put a lot of care in the drinks they make. i will come back for just drinks next time!

the food not as great. the naan was cracker-like, dahl curry could have used more salt, but the kerala fried chicken was joust and the aoli was addictive.

they add a 22% service charge, and it’s unclear whether it goes toward a living wage or is simply meant to avoid raising menu prices even further. Am I still expected to tip on top of that???

Frankly the food didn't feel worth it. Most of the stuff had so much lemon juice in it, making it extremely tangy for no reason. Drinks especially the king coconut was amazing, so definitely try that . The server was also super disrespectful and disreceptive to the feedback

Recommended dishes: Kerala Fried Chicken, King Coconut, Chili Sambol

One of the best date restaurants in Seattle! And just a top restaurant period - serving original dishes, excellent cocktails in a really beautiful and intimate setting. The staff is outstanding and the owner is magnificent at creating a mood and ensuring the service of his team is a top priority and constantly works to up the bar for guests' experience.

I know that the automatically added Service Charge is a point of contention for some guests. However, I recognize that this practice is fairly standard for many restaurants in Seattle and the charge at Rupee I know for a fact all goes to directly to the staff and there is no additional tipping expected from guests.

The food was good. I would recommend just small plates though large plates took a lot longer to prepare and did not scale compared to the price increase. The number of vegetarian options is truly appreciated. It does feel expensive for what it is.
3 small plates 2 large plates and 2 cocktails came out to $115 and we definitely could have eaten a lot more.

I’ll start by saying I loved the atmosphere and the chai brownie. That is where the good stuff ends. The person working the door was super short with us, to the point where it would have been funny if the price point wasn’t so high. He said, “I don’t have time for this, just come back if you want a table” when he called me for the waitlist notification. Again, funny, except the bill was $200 for 4 people…and we would have left hungry if we didn’t have bar food at Olaf’s beforehand. The food is good, but not great. There is not enough rice and naan to go with the curries, and there are no spoons on the table so you can’t even drink it up that way. Cocktails were good, but $17 each. I would not recommend this place for anything other than happy hour or for a late night dessert and drink. It just wasn’t good enough and didn’t have professional enough service to make the high price point worth it.

Great vegetarian options and wonderfully friendly service. Highly recommend the new potatoes, Dahl, and naan. A little loud if it's busy, but the food makes it worthwhile!

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to - incredible food, delightful service, great drinks, and a casual but fun atmosphere that makes for great conversation and energy.

Probably one of the best happy hours in Seattle for food lovers that want to sample the menu
