as this was my first time trying gumbo, I'm not sure I'm fully qualified to judge this, but I'll give it a shot anywaynormally, I don't like soups, because they're mostly liquidhowever, this was less of a soup and more of a dish with a ton of sauce - due to how much stuff is in hereI loved that this bowl was completely packed with solid ingredients - so each spoonful got you a variety of different thingsthe most important thing in a soup is getting the broth right - and I have to say they pretty much nailed itthe liquid has some spice to it - which very much pleasantly surprised me, and in addition, it has great depth of flavorI found it to be probably the best part of the bowlnone of the toppings are particularly noteworthy - they're all pretty solid additionsas mentioned earlier, the amount of meat in here was pretty fantastic.I noticed chicken and sausage as being especially present throughout, and both were pretty goodthe bread was decent - I thought it could've used more toasting/crispiness and more butter - as it became a bit too softwhen dipped in the gumbothe fries were also ok - i would've loved if they were seasoned with some sort of cajun seasoning - but the sauce was goodthe price wasn't too expensive, around 15 dollars, but the portion size wasn't huge either - so it's about a wash thereOverall, good flavor with a ton of different ingredients. 8/10

Had lunch around 1:00 on a Saturday, there were two tables available for our group of 7. The service was excellent, fun little place to hangout. The jalapeño hush puppies were delicious!
Hole in the wall looking place with worn in comfortable feel when you enter.Menu appears lengthy which always concerns me but our chicken sandwich, Cole slaw and fried chicken were all tasty. No fountain drinks but they serve mixed drinks, and plenty to choose from.Long menu and Counter ordering with really friendly service that does take care of patrons at the tables. They bring out water and check up on ya.Outdoor seating in back and near ice box arcade. Very cool collection of small food places right next to one another. Will return and definitely recommend

This place made the best chicken sandwhich I think I’ve ever had. The jalapeño cheddar hushpuppies were super good as well. It’s small on the inside and was packed on a Tuesday night!
We ordered the awesome original chicken. It came with 3 juicy pieces of chicken as well as sides. We also ordered the brisket sandwich which was amazing as well. We ended with the bread pudding which deserves an award. We will definitely be back.
I love this place. I usually come here before raves at Substation. Everything I’ve gotten on their menu is fantastic, and they keep a wide variety of good beers on tap. The servers and bartenders are always very friendly. Can’t recommend this place enough!

This place has amazing food and so many infused drinks that are soooo good. I wish I lived in Ballard to visit here all the time. Never been disappointed by this place.
This is what all dive bars should be: off the beaten path, drinks you can’t get anyplace else, and delicious food that makes you want to bring your friends back. This place does all three with uncanny je ne sais quoi!
