Awesome shop with a great selection of Scandinavian foods and gifts.

Has a really nice little deli counter with fresh made treats.

Even a small Nordic bookstore.

Perfect place to pick up a gift for any of the Vikings in your life.

My family and I have been customers of Scandinavian Specialties for longer than I can remember. For that reason, it's always a little nostalgic (especially when I enjoy a Solo while I’m there). I go there for lunch every few months or so and then go for more shopping at Christmas time. The staff is always friendly and the open-faced sandwiches are delicious. I make it a destination for out of town guests when I can as shops like this one are unique. If you’re looking for anything Scandinavian, this is the place!

They have the best variety of pickled fish that I've seen in Seattle. I love their books, candy, and decorations too. The prices are a bit high though, and the parking can be difficult. They have a small parking lot, and otherwise there is street parking. It is a very busy street so turns can be tough. It is a nice place to grab a sandwich. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which is pleasant. The feel is primarily that of a shop, rather than a restaurant.

I stopped in Scandinavian Specialties during my Ballard walk-about for a snack and beverage. The store was very cute, filled with food, candies, beverages and more from Scandinavia. I asked for a not too sweet pastry. They recommended Fyrstekake, which is Norwegian shortbread tart with an almond filling. It was delicious, kind of like an almond brownie. I’ll have to return to try other Scandinavian treats.

They are absolutely amazing to work with! We placed a bulk order for our wedding, and the entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. Having a Swedish candy bar was such a huge hit with our guests — everyone loved it! Ordering was super easy, and they made the whole process effortless. Highly recommend them for any event!

Really happy to have this shop in the neighborhood. I’d be lying if the candy didn’t keep me coming back over and over. But they have gifts, and other foods and a cafe too. The staff is always super nice.

Recommend to me by tons of people. Cutest little shop with lots of Nordic nick-knacks, home goods, imported groceries, plus the cafe with lots of sweet and savory options to choose from. It quickly became a favorite.

Always a great selection of fun northern european items from knives and baked goods to canned seafood, homemade soup, and original Scandinavian clothing. Always a fun place to try new things, or just appreciate new items they've received.

I usuakly come here for the Finnish baked goids and xabdy (Salmiakki). They have surprisingly wide variety goods. Cheaper than ordering from EU.

One of the last vestiges of Ballard's Scandinavian heritage. Light lunch was radty and authentic. Food and gift items are pricey...like they would be in Norway or Sweden

Love this store. Lefse is delicious and we never pass up the chance to get fresh krumkake with lingonberry cream.
