We heard about this restaurant on TikTok. The reviews were great, so we decided give it a try. We were the first customers to arrive, the chairs were still on the table. The greeting wasn't the friendliest, however it wasn't rude. The Chicken and Waffles looked appealing so that's what we ordered, the chicken was fried well and the waffle were fluffy. I just felt that is was missing a little seasoning. All in all it was nice visiting a black-owner business in Seattle.

First visit here. Very nice staff. Plenty of seating inside.. maybe their outside seating was closed. We went for takeout for dinner. I got the catfish with Mac and yams. My wife got the catfish sandwich and fries.. unfortunately they were out of greens .. next time! But what we got was really good. Will make it back eventually to try other menu items. There is a happy hour too which is super cool!

I feel like I could eat the catfish and collard greens for breakfast, brunch, and brinner. I really enjoy the food and have tried the other dishes, but it can’t compare to the crispy cranch of the cat.
We tend to do take out, but the one time we dined in with our baby in stroller we had the best customer service! We will be coming back to dine in “) good vibes! Local spot so you know it’s good!

The greens tasted old and very much like they where not seasoned AT ALL. the mac and cheese was rubbery after only 4 mins of is eating not to meantion cold. The only good thing about my meal and i got chicken 2 sides of mac and cheese greens and red beans and rice was the chicken its hard to mess up plain fried chicken. The lady in there today was so rude and dismissive to my friend and i and we spent over 40 dollars in there the eye rolls the taking customers before us who came in after us and the rude communication was all too much. i wasted my money and im so disappointed.

Had a bad experience there today.

First off the guy tells me that the sandwich doesn’t come with anything but the menu in person says fries. So am I paying for both and you just don’t feel like making them? Fix your menu or give me a price break.

We were going to eat in and after waiting for 1/2 hour I had to ask the guy if our food was coming. Pretty sure he forgot, not that busy.

Food was not great. Bbq brisket was tough and tasted like a bad McRib. I recall having the fried chicken before and it was good, this time was bland with no spices at all.

Also I hate having to keep asking for things. Like give me a napkin with the food or leave some out. Same with the water glasses, damn.

Never going back.

We had high hopes for this spot, especially as a Black-owned business offering Southern cuisine. The staff was warm and welcoming, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite meet our expectations. Despite the wait, the dishes didn’t taste fresh—more like they came from a can. We ordered the fried chicken, yams, and green beans, and were hoping for that homemade, Southern flavor. We really wanted to love it, but left a bit disappointed.

I’ve ordered catering from this restaurant before and was really impressed by the food. Although the delivery I requested wasn’t possible due to personal matters on their end, they communicated that to me, which I appreciated. The quality of the food made me want to return and try dining in with my family.

A few weeks later, we visited the restaurant in person and were excited to enjoy a meal on-site. We placed our order and sat down, noticing that nearly every table was full—but curiously, no one had food in front of them. Since we weren’t in a rush, we decided to wait it out.

As time passed, we saw many mobile orders being picked up while dine-in customers continued to wait. It became clear that priority was being given to mobile and delivery orders over those dining in. In total, we waited 80 minutes for our food. While the food was, again, absolutely delicious, it’s hard to say it was worth that kind of wait.

My intention in sharing this is not to complain, but to offer honest feedback in hopes that it helps the restaurant grow. I truly believe this place has something special—the flavors are incredible—but the dine-in experience is falling short due to how orders are managed. If a better balance could be found between online orders and the in-person dining experience, I think it would take this restaurant to the next level.

Looking forward to coming back when some of these kinks are worked out, because the food is definitely worth coming back for—just hopefully with a shorter wait next time.

I ordered my food at 12:24pm and it came out at 1:44pm. If you’re hungry prepare to be starved. The food was good but I wish the staff would have explained why it was taking so long. They were apologetic but that was after I checked on my food an hour later. Which it seems they forgot about me because when I checked on the status of my food it still took 20 minutes to come out. Other than that… probably too scarred to go back. Some things aren’t worth the fight.

We came during dinner time with a big group (16) (leaving for a cruise tomorrow). We met there at 6pm. When my wife and I left (@8:45) two of the people still didn’t have there food. Took about an 1.5 for the first food to hit the table. Food was ok. Definitely not soul food as Black people know it.

I got the mac & cheese and the cornbread. The mac & cheese was delightful. It was creamy and perfectly seasoned and I got a simple lemonade. That was great.

Every single morsel was delicious! The atmosphere is sparse, but the prices are good and seriously, the food is so good. The shrimp and grits, the fried chicken, the waffle, the potato salad. All yummy.

Also, I was shocked there were negative reviews and at least one review seemed to be of another place, as they don’t serve green beans or mashed potatoes and the potato salad was perfection.
