i really wish i could support this business but I just cant. Tried something new catering for a business meeting. I got po boys and a tray of fries with a few sweet teas off of ezcater. the fries were inedible, not cooked. the po boys were bland, the fried oyster po boys did not taste fresh. i ate it because i was starving but then wondered if i was going to get sick from it. the sweet tea I imagined would be legit sweet tea but they were arizona canned sweet teas. pretty disappointed. I would say imagine the hospital cafeteria trying to do soul food and this might be what you get.

Delicious ! I ordered this restaurant using uber eats for a traditional Christmas dinner while away on a work trip and I'm glad i did ! The food was mostly flavorful, but overall delicious Lemon pepper catfish: tho small in size, these were my favorite Fries chicken : least flavorful, but made up for the perfect crispy Yams: just delicious Mac and cheese : great for restaurant made ! Greens: also delicious- I'm use to mine being slightly spicy, but these i would get again Banana pudding : this was good Overall if I'm ever in Seattle craving soul food I'd get this again.

Taking forever to cook

My father raised me on southern food and was a great cook. This place really brought me back to his cooking which I still can't seem to replicate. Really excellent southern food that hits home when you're missing it. I've ordered from this place a few times now and they're always consistent. From gumbo, to catfish, to collard greens and fried chicken, it's awesome. Pretty simply seasoned but it's true to the culture, good ingredients don't need immense seasoning. It's a really great spot for some down home southern cuisine.

Overall, I would not recommend it. I'm sorry, but this is not soul food. I don't know what to classify it as, but soul is not it.The good: I got grits with fried shrimp. The shrimp was delicious, and I got a lot of shrimp. The cornbread was delicious, but I wouldn't call it cornbread. It had a lemon flavor to it and reminded me of a lemon pound cake with no icing. The red beans and rice were alright. The bad: The grits were way too salty, to the point that I couldn't even finish them. I felt that the chef used the right seasonings just way too much salt. The amount of salt made me feel physically sick. The Mac and cheese was alright but very garlicky. A lot of Mac and cheese that I've had in the PNW is prepared this way, so maybe it's just the preferred style here. The peach cobbler... I don't even know what to say about this. It tasted like canned peaches with whipped cream. They needed more cinnamon and sugar. The crust was soggy.I also got red velvet cake, but I have not tried it yet, I will update once I have. Each meal is about $22, while the dessert is about $10 each. The portion size combined with quality is definitely not worth the price. I would pay at most $16 for the meals. And only $5 for the size of red velvet cake slice. As for the peach cobbler, I wouldn't buy it again, no matter the price.

I was craving some good soul food for a couple of months. I finally got there early enough to order.I ordered two meat plate with three sides. I also got some peach cobbler and banana pudding.Everything was so good it took me back to my granny's house on the holidays. I got the idis after eating ?.This will be my new spot.I wish someone could help them fix up the physical restaurant. I would imagine if they did they would stay packed everyday. I know my friends and family would be in line for a table.Don't forget your "slap yo mamma" punch.

I don't know where these people are from but you ain't from the south with dry, tasteless cornbread. Dry tasteless red beans and rice. Banana pudding that is instant pudding with 3-4 wafers. The catfish wasn't bad and saved my stomach from tasteless food and Mac and cheese was okay. Oh yeah yams ? plantains not bad actually were good. You have no idea what soul means. I wish I could have rated you better but I can not.

Extremely rude and hard to order from. Won’t be back but I do recommend dumplings the restaurant below them.

The mac N cheese had burnt pieces of cheese in and on top, NO seasoning. The chicken has no taste, no salt and just nasty. On the peach cobbler there is not one spice, you can't see the cinnamon or nutmeg and the crust is thick enough to choke a horse. The black pieced in the mac and cheese are burnt cheese. The Just wrong, all wrong.

The fry was good but there wasn't much fish inside and it was mushy. Decent red beans and the cake lacked flavor. It was difficult to pickup the food.

The food is SO GOOD. I think the parking is obnoxious, and finding the place (inside another) is confusing. I think the only suggestion I'd have is for the packaging of the food. The mac/yams are too wet for boxes. I think containers would be better for sides. But the food. It's definitely soul food. The fried food is crispy, the Mac and cheese and the candied yams and the plantain all pass the test. If you're craving soul food, get some of this.
