My father raised me on southern food and was a great cook. This place really brought me back to his cooking which I still can't seem to replicate. Really excellent southern food that hits home when you're missing it. I've ordered from this place a few times now and they're always consistent. Overall, I would not recommend it. I'm sorry, but this is not soul food. I don't know what to classify it as, but soul is not it.The good: I got grits with fried shrimp. The shrimp was delicious, and I got a lot of shrimp. The cornbread was delicious, but I wouldn't call it cornbread. It had a lemon flavor to it and reminded me of a lemon pound cake with no icing. I ordered a chicken dinner, gumbo, and red velvet cake. This was the most delicious food I’ve had in a long time. Chicken was crispy, flavorful, and juicy. The macaroni was out of this world. And the red velvet cake ( which is not usually my favorite) was perfection! I think I just died and went to heaven….
