The 17 reviews about the one girl being assaulted is interesting seems like just tryna take down a business and not tell your story as much. Love the food here :) will be back‼️
I wanted to share what I experienced tonight, which was such a horrible experience. This Saturday I went out with my boyfriend to have a good time. I chose Sugar Hill because I thought it looked like a beautiful spot with a great atmosphere.
When we arrived, we went to the bar to order drinks. I understand it was busy, and we stayed patient all that time, but the waitress still served every customer who came after us before us. We were confused and tried to signal to her several times, but we were still ignored until she decided we were worth serving. My boyfriend couldn’t believe how she acted. It was done in such a passive-aggressive way that she must have thought no one would notice.
To make matters worse, despite the poor treatment, I was charged a service fee. It’s not the money that matters most to me, but the service , giving someone bad service because of their skin color or gender is unacceptable. I went back to speak with her, but instead of listening, she even went over to speak with the Black male server who had an Afro. Right after their conversation, he gave me a mean, condescending look , and all of this happened in front of another customer who witnessed the whole scene from the beginning visibly shocked. She then immediately called two Black security guards. They didn’t allow me to explain and treated me with unnecessary aggression. They chose not to listen to me and to believe what she told them. I left the building and stayed outside feeling completely dehumanized, hurt, and humiliated like never before.
I am sharing this because I hope one day life will show her that no one chooses their skin color, race, or gender , we don’t have control over it.
To the two Black security guards and the Black server who treated me as if I was nothing, maybe you hold stereotypes about women who look like you, and you chose to believe her instead of me. That choice says more about you than it ever could about me.
I will never set foot in that place again. I hope that people who go there will have an idea of the service they might receive.

Sugar hill.

I only give you the money I owe for the food/drinks. I am allowed to have the mandatory 22% tip amended whether you do it or I scratch it out with a pen and put my own tip on there and give MY server the tip.
Cool lil spot for some reggae
Sugar Hill in Capitol Hill, Seattle, is an absolute gem. The music is always on point—great vibes, perfect volume, and an awesome mix that keeps the energy up all night. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The overall experience was nothing short of amazing. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Seattle, I highly recommend stopping by Sugar Hill. You won’t be disappointed!
Sugar Hill was a highlight of my trip to Seattle. The service was excellent, the music upstairs with the live DJ brought great energy, and the Record Room downstairs was the perfect spot to unwind. It feels like multiple great spots all wrapped into one, perfect for whatever night you're in the mood for. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

We had a great event at Sugar Hill! The specialty drinks were an absolute hit (tasty with fun colors) and we flew threw the food. The upstairs was perfect for our group of 60 and very reasonably priced.

I was visiting my friend in Seattle and we decided to check out this bar on Saturday night (May 3rd). While the music was actually really good, our experience was completely ruined by an extremely rude male bartender with a gray Afro. He was disrespectful and had a terrible attitude from the moment we walked in. We were nothing but polite, but he acted like we were a burden just for ordering drinks. It left a really bad impression and honestly made us feel unwelcome. I wouldn’t recommend this place based on the customer service alone.
The worst costumer Service experience ever!! On Saturday night around 2300-0100am, a male bar keeper with a gray Afro demonstrated a highly rude, disrespectful and passive aggressive attitude towards my friends and my self. The remarks and comments were so frequent, to the point that his behavior and actions remained the topic for the remainder of our visit in Seattle. Perhaps, it could be a behavior or psychological issue, but unfortunately it negatively influenced our experience at the sugar hill lounge despite of the good music and interior design. Based on previous review comments, it was not the first time staff member with similar characteristics received complaints of an unprofessional rude behavior under the reviews.

Expensive extra fee charged 22%not worth it.
Seldom do I leave reviews. I guess they decided to close early. Door was still open, me and friend walked in. Instead of letting us know they were closing early, guy was rude as hell saying the curtain was closed. (Mind you the door was open), all he had to say we were closed. Instead he went into a passive aggressive rant. Rude as hell. Do better sugar hill. Happened at 9:43 p.m 17APR25. Dude with the Grey Afro. Smh.
The most authentic!
