2 words. Happy. Hour. Has to be the best happy hour deal in the city. Hand rolls, apps and drinks for cheap?! Can’t go wrong with that! The hand rolls were so good. Service is excellent. Make a reservation ahead of time so avoid wait

Huge props to Chef Johnny! Experience with him specifically was amazing and the food was tasty. Our favorite was the seared king salmon sashimi and unagi hand roll. Unfortunately the waitress we had must have been having a terrible day or something bc her attitude was terrible. The hostess we first spoke with was very nice and upbeat, and another waitress seemed normal, but our main assigned waitress just seemed annoyed and pissed off, and was not attentive or very nice so we felt better talking to other waitress than our own. I hope it was just a bad day and not how she is all the time because she really brought the vibe down compared to the rest of the staff and experience.

We had the best experience at Sugo today! I went 2 days ago for the first time and had to come back because the happy hour deal was too hard to miss. This time though, the experience was even better! They made the your sushi right in front of you if you’re seated in the sushi bar. We ordered spicy tuna, scallop, truffle avocado, and salmon hand rolls. The rolls tasted great and were filled with a LOT of the fillings (almost overflowing). Really generous portion and great deal!!We also ordered wagyu sando. I love the meat, but find the sauce a bit overwhelming. I would reorder it but would request less sauce next time.Overall, amazing food, but the service was even greater. Our chef, Johnny is so personable! He made the atmosphere really enjoyable and fun which is amazing for drinking and relaxing. He also made a special roll for us which tasted amazing ( looked so good so didn’t snap a pic lol)

The service is outstanding. Our server Johnny took care of us, asking what we like and customized one roll for us :)If we can give a 6 star review, we will give 7 for Johnny. We came during happy hour, and we left very happy ?The rolls are filled to the brim and they only cost 4 dollars, no wonder the record is 35 rolls. The Wagyu sando is almost half the price, very recommended, we Will come back again for sure. Muy bueno!

Came while wandering pike place, saw it right outside the marketplace. Great place, friendly staff, hand rolled right in front of you. Happy hour had great prices. Lychee cocktail was a fun specialty with a smoke bubble! Very tasty and smooth. Sashimi and spicy tuna stole the show, but the pork tonkatsu with nori spiced fries and sesami ketchup, wagyu baku don, and bay scallop hand roll was really good too.

Very underhwhelming sushi bar. I brought my sister here because she was visiting me and wanted to impress her with a nice sushi place. First we had to wait to be seated 10~15min even though we had made a reservation. This was a small inconvenience but while waiting I could see the kitchen there was a girl with very long hair in normal clothes making some of the food and it was alarming to see her hair not tied and to be that long and casually making the expensive food. Then later we got seated at the sushi bar and their website was no accurate to tell us that happy hour was no longer served which was the whole point why we went early and made the reservation at that time, but again minor inconvenience at this point. Food wise the salmon was just horrible. It had so much fat and it just reminded salmon from salmon farms where they grow up basically eating their own feces. They have very fancy cocktails that are very expensive. Overall the food was so underwhelming. Our food came out really late and they ended up giving a free tuna dish because they messed up our order. Overall I think Sugo Hand Roll fronts as a fancy luxury sushi bar, but I will never be going back again. It's not that it was horrible it was just not worth a 50$ per person sushi experience. And they do not validate parking.

excellent lunch bento boxes with huge portions. i was so full but satisfied by this meal! it definitely gets busy, even on weekdays.that being said, service can be slow, esp. getting the check. the servers don't seem to be checking in on the diners much.

Save your money for a great dinner at Momiji SLU or Nori Sushi in Eastlake! The place serves pretty good Sushi but we have been really disappointed with their service and complete lack of empathy for their customers. We show up on Friday evening at 8:40 pm based on the expected ETA shown on Yelp waitlist. We are told that we were texted at 8:15 pm itself to inform us that our seats were ready [We didn't receive any such message] The hostess proceeds to tell us that their last seating is 8:30 pm and they cannot accommodate us at that time. This seemed like a genuine mixup so we let it go and proceed to another restaurant in the area.On Monday, we feel like Sushi again. This time we rush to get there before 8:30 and show up around 8:23 pm. Now, we are told that their last seating is always 8:15 pm and they cannot seat us. Does the last seating change based on the mood of the restaurant crew? Define a SLA and stick to it!! I have heard the last seating be 30 mins before the closing time but 45 mins just seems to be something the hostess made on the spot. Do yourself a favor and don't give them business that they don't want anyway.

Best sushi hand roll place in Seattle! My partner and I came here for our 6 year anniversary and we were blown away with the food and the atmosphere. Johnny was our chef for the night and he was very attentive and gave us a suggestion of adding yuzu sauce to the uni caviar, which was SO GOOD. I highly recommend this place if you're in the Pike Place Market area. Johnny, thank you for the evening!

Sugo is my favorite hand roll spot in Seattle. The food is delicious with super warm and friendly staff. They recently added bento lunch special and it's great. I've been a few times and will definitely come back soon.

WOW! We came in to celebrate my best friend’s engagement and the service, food, and vibe were incredible. Our server was SO friendly and sweet, and this place truly made the occasion so special. We loved the sake shooters, spicy tuna dip, wagyu beef app, and every single one of the rolls — especially the scallops and crab rolls.? This was our first meal for our little Seattle trip and it did NOT disappoint! Cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you for making this day so memorable!? ?

Coming from Vancouver, I’ve heard good things about sushi in Seattle, and Sugo Hand Roll Bar was the first place we came across while we were walking around the area. Right away, the customer service was exceptional! Mel, our server, gave us compressed towel tablets and answered any questions we had about the menu. We ended up ordering the 5 Hand Roll Set, the 4 Hand Roll Set, and the Space Dance cocktail. We were worried that our cards wouldn’t work in case we didn’t have enough cash, but the staff was very helpful/patient, and it turns out we were able to pay with our Mastercard! The chef was also very friendly and we really enjoyed the food—the king salmon and spicy bay scallop hand roll were my favourites. The wasabi was also fresh. If I were to come back, I’d get the 5 Hand Roll Set again. It was filling and I enjoyed all the flavours (king salmon, spicy bay scallop, spicy tuna, snow crab, torched eel). At the end of our meal, we received a surprise from the chef and it really made our day!Another surprise was the candy that comes with the bill. Usually, they’re hard milk candy or guava candy, but we were given Japanese gummy candy with mango, strawberry, and lychee flavours. They are seriously good and I am considering buying a bag if I ever see it in store!I am very glad to have come across this hand roll bar :)

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sugo Hand Roll Bar, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the unique atmosphere. The layout of the restaurant, with everyone seated around the bar overlooking the kitchen where the hand rolls are expertly prepared, created an engaging and interactive dining environment. One of the highlights of my visit was being able to watch and chat with the person preparing my food. It added a personal touch to the dining experience that you don't often find elsewhere. The staff, including Tyler, Tito, Nora, and Emi, were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout my meal. Despite dining alone, I never felt lonely thanks to their warm hospitality. Now, let's talk about the food. Not only did the rolls taste amazing, but they were also beautifully presented, earning a solid 5/5 in both taste and appearance.I'll definitely be back for more of those delicious hand rolls!
