Fish tasted like chicken . They don’t clean the grill between orders so if you’re a vegetarian or pescatarian , good luck. All my fish dishes tasted of chicken which was so nasty as a non-meat eater.
Pretty sure they made the birria tacos smaller since the last time I went here. No longer worth the price.
Birria tacos and pina mule were delicious!
Taco Salad And Best Birria Tacos good drinks too
I rarely leave reviews but this place is such a hidden gem! Best tacos in Seattle, amazing guacamole, friendly and quick service. Rarely busy. Worth the trip to Columbia City!
Cool vibe. Good food. Would go back.
I do not take this lightly that I’m leaving a bad review. I’ve been to this place twice. The first time was great—good food and friendly service, although the strong smell of bleach and pine-scented cleaner was a bit overwhelming.
(Edited: note to include time and date for management at Taco City Taqueria)
Unfortunately, my second visit today, (Friday may 16, 2025, the hostess was working around 2:45/3pm) was completely different. When we arrived, the waitress dropped the menus on the front counter and gestured for us to seat ourselves, even though there are clear signs saying to wait to be seated. It felt unwelcoming right from the start, but we decided to find ourselves a seat.
When she came to take our order, she rolled her eyes and was noticeably rude. She didn’t make eye contact, didn’t greet us, and grimaced while taking our orders. She didn’t say a single “thank you” or kind word during the entire interaction. We felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Ultimately, we decided to leave because of how we were treated.
It’s really disappointing to have such a drastic shift in experience. I hope management takes this kind of feedback seriously—it makes a big difference.
Instead we ended up going one block down for Thai food at Bua 9 Thai Cuisine and they were great, the food was delicious and came out fast and it didn’t smell like cleaning bleach/pine-sol.
This is our new go to place for food. It’s our third time going in two weeks. We have had lunch twice and dinner once. We have tried the tacos, quesadillas, nachos, wings, guacamole and salsa. It’s had all been great. The salsa is so fresh and the guacamole is limey how I like it. The fried ice cream is amazing for dessert! The ladies that work there are super friendly as well. Our next trip we plan on trying the brunch.
Lunch Tip: Ask for their lunch menu and they have $9.99 specials M-F. They have a sign outside but if you don’t ask they give you the regular menu. They are a half portion but it’s still plenty of food.
Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu and last time I think half the restaurant was full of family’s so my guess is they are kid friendly.

I knew I had to write a review when I realized it’s been a week and I’m still thinking about my order. Carne asada fries (🤤🤤🤤) green and red combo chicken enchiladas, and a cochinita pibil torta. Service, wait time, and atmosphere were 5 star. They have cute games to play while you wait. It’s a super cute spot and will 100000% be back, probably this weekend

Inconsiderate of the neighborhood with loud music that to my knowledge goes against city ordinance

Brunch is SO good!! I've never had brunch a taqueria before, and it's now a favorite. Try the Birria Bao Bun Benedict! Amazing.
While I was there, a few homeless people walked by and they rushed out with containers of free meals. Incredible! I love seeing a place take care of people.

I had a fish taco, veggie taco, and al pastor taco, with rice and beans. Coming from the SF Bay Area, were there are a ton of good Mexican restaurant options, this place hit the spot. Excellent food and service. Cool vibe.

Some of the best fish tacos around, period. Taco City does a few things really well, my advice is don’t go here to order a light dinner, go here and order birria and fried fish, the magic happens here with comfort food.
