NOT RECOMMENDED. I ordered #1 beef, popcorn chicken, extra noodles and fish. Beef taste very old, I couldn't even eat the meat. I have been to many tasty pot all over California and this is the worst ever. When in California, I go to tasty every other day so I know how it taste. I was happy to find a tasty pot in Seattle but never again here. I'll stick to California's tasty pot. Customer service very very bad here. The only thing the server said was "scan QR code and order" never heard from her again except when bringing my order. She doesn't come and check on you or anything. There was only 1 other person there. Usually when I go into a Tasty Pot there's at least 10 other people there. I thought maybe it's slow day, but after tasting the food and experiencing the service, no wonder no one's there. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Disappointed because the broth is bland and lacking in any flavor or richness, the pot itself never got to a rolling boil. These two sad things combined are enough to say I won't be coming back.
Every time I walk by here on the ave, there are very few people inside. Now I know why.The food was... meh. There was no ventilation or AC (in a hot pot place, no less!), and the waitress was extremely inattentive. I basically ended up refilling the pitcher on my own just so we could have enough water to drink. The sauces also look like they had been sitting there for weeks, given their lack of patronage. I've been to other tasty pots before, and I thought it was decent. This location, however, was far below expectations.
Really yummy! Service was wonderful. My pot was a bit spicy even though I put no spice, but otherwise, I really recommend this place.
My favorite place to get a hot tasty pot. The seafood with Thai spice flavor is delicious. Also the boba tea is really well made.
This place is ALWAYS good. A favorite spot, this is one of the best options for a hot pot in Seattle! Staff are always nice, food is always consistent, table tops and restaurant is overall clean, parking is sometimes a little bit tricky but that’s the University district area in general.
Got the lamb hot pot! Pretty good considering taste and how much was given in the serving. A lot of menu items were out of stock, including beef and the Miso soup hot pot. I would probably go to Boiling Point instead.
This place is fantastic! Me and a friend wandered in and it was the best random wander in ever. We have never had individual hot pots, so it was a very cool new experience. We both got the curry hot pot and we got some dumplings as well. IT WAS SOOO GOOD! The hot pot was packed with various seafood, corn, an egg, oyster mushroom, and some other glorious things. I got medium spicy and it had a good amount of spice. The tiger brown sugar milk tea with Boba was good and came it an adorable cup. My friend for the matcha rose milk tea and it was the best! It was great quality, nice staff, and we will definitely be back!
I came by this past Sunday afternoon to have some lunch while I was in the area, I love going to Tasty Pot in Shoreline but the UDistrict location is so much closer. I also have dined at this location previously and know the food is good! But when I came on Sunday I was severely disappointed.I was waiting to be seated for over 15 mins. Which, made no sense because it was not busy in the restaurant. I counted probably 3 tables that were in the middle of eating and 1 table that was waiting on food. Another guy showed up shortly after me and he was waiting for a while too. This one older lady that came by to collect dirty plates from the tables barely acknowledged us. She asked if we were dining together, to which we said no we are separate. But instead of showing us to a table she kept collecting dirty dishes — and EXCRUCIATINGLY slow might I add. Some people working at the register and kitchen saw us waiting too but never bothered to check on us. I should have ignored the “please wait to be seated” sign and have gone up to the front to get their attention to ask to be seated, but the customer service was just so awful I just wanted to leave and eat ASAP.This was my worst experience with the restaurant so far. So severely disappointed.
Those who eat a lot of hotpot will inevitably compare this place with Boiling Point. Here I will try to give an honest comparison between the two.We ordered seafood lobster hotpot, and Taiwanese style stinky tofu hotpot. The flavors are good, but the portion of meat is rather small. When compared to Boiling Point, Tasty Pot give you less meat, despite being more expensive. Both places offer a decent selection of flavors, which one you like more is only a matter of personal taste. The hotpot stove at Tasty Pot has a built-in switch to turn off the fire. At Boiling Point, you have to ask a waiter to do that, which is less convenient. The service at Tasty Pot left a lot to be desired. Whenever we need something, we have to walk to the front desk to ask for it. The waitress never come by to give you any personal attention. The lobster hotpot is a unique flavor you can only get at Tasty Pot, not Boiling Point.
Restaurantji Recommends
Order from a QR code, add to your order through the meal if needed, pay when you’re finished.I got the beef pot with fried tofu, vermicelli, and a complimentary tea. The food was tasty, place was clean, and service was good.Whatever spice level you choose, you can increase the heat with the delicious chili oil at the table. It’s super good quality. I would recommend this to friends, but these “single serve” meals are more fit for two. If you were to make one order, have two sides of rice or vermicelli, and maybe add a few other sides, the price is much more reasonable and it’s more than plenty for two. Having just paid for the soup and tofu side for myself, my order was about $26.Another plus, the occluder for the flame is with the burner so you can put it out yourself, rather than waiting for a server to come around.
It tastes super bad. The small hot pot is full of chili dregs, and it is not spicy. It's not as delicious as the hot pot base I bought in the supermarket! It really tastes terrible
Overall, I think Boiling Point is a superior option over Tasty Pot. Not only is Boiling Point cheaper but better value in both quality and quantity of ingredients. Despite the higher price range, we were given very little amounts of meat in comparison. The meat was dry and overcooked. Seafood was clearly frozen. We ordered the seafood hotpot with high hopes for the lobster tail only to see the black roe consisting of the lobster's waste matter not properly cleaned out. The service was great and quick. The overall taste of the broth was delicious but the price does not correlate well.
I was incredibly disappointed in my food today.I am NOT at all sensitive to spicey food, and choose to get their spiciest choice, which in return was so full of oil, tubas after my noodles soaked up the oil, it still had about 3 millimeters of oil in the bowl, which was very wide.Alternatively, the food just wasn't flavorful, and I didn't get enough lamb in my bowl to say that what I ordered was a lamb bowl worth $18. It felt more like a Cabbage bowl worth $7-8 with exotic garnishes and I'm not kidding a single slice of lamb.My wife and cousin also ordered a bowl and both of them said 'eh' when I asked was it good.I love food and went to school for years to learn how to appeal to every tongue, this isn't a place I'd suggest to anyone. My following isn't give, but large enough to make a decent impact.Altogether we spent $95 on a meal not worth more than $40 and none of us left happy.Taro milk... for the win, though.
The cheesy milk hot soup was really good. But it was a bit disappointing that the day we went they didn’t provide any beef options.
