taz is one of my go-to matcha spots in seattle. their matcha is smooth and the jasmine syrup adds a faint floral note that isn’t too sweet or overpowering (i’d recommend 75% sweet for hot). i’m personally not a fan of their oat matcha latte as i find it masks the matcha taste :(

Matcha has been always my go to. The drinks were very good. Love how they make the drinks in front of you and use all the ceremonial matcha. Definitely would come back again when I visit Pike place again

Very disappointed. I ordered my drink with no ice, they gave me a noticeably smaller cup (which was mentioned in the menu) — BUT it wasn’t even filled up (see photo). And this small unfilled cup took ~$9. The matcha didn’t taste good either, kind of bitter and not smooth. Definitely not worth it.

Okay… sometimes matcha places are overhyped, but that is not the case here 😭 Taz is sooo good, the best matcha place I’ve been to so far! I got the strawberry matcha and stirring everything up gave it the perfect taste and sweetness. We went early on a Thursday afternoon and were in and out in about 10 minutes so it wasn’t bad at all. The people in there are nice as well. Highly recommend this place!

This is the best matcha I've found in the US! The strawberry matcha is amazing too, and you can get it without any sweetener added and it still has the good strong matcha taste but just adds yummy strawberry compote on the bottom. Cannot wait to go back!

Loved and reminds me of Japan trip! Great job here to the owners, definitely check it out—worth it!

I was recommended this place by Dahlia Bakery. I was not expecting such a serious set up! You can watch them make your drink at the bar. You have to place your order on the screen, which I didn’t realize when I walked in because it was so crowded. Thankfully, it only took a minute for a spot to free up at the bar. I ordered the banana matcha with 25% sweetness + cold foam and it was perfect. So thick and rich, you could let the ice melt over the remainder of your drink, and it wouldn’t taste watered down a few minutes later at all! I’ve never experienced that before. I ended up sitting at the bar for a while to charge my phone and they didn’t make me feel like a burden-/ in fact, they poured water for me when I was done with my drink, which was really kind and observant of them. The bathrooms are really nice too.

I was in Seattle for 3 days and all these days I was purchasing Strawberry Matcha from this place. Truly loved the taste and will be coming back for sure.

Cute little matcha shop with decent matcha. I like that you can add extra matcha to your drink, as well as choose from different matcha types. 25% is not too sweet, even with strawberry puree! They have a kiosk you can order from, which I like as it shows you all the different options you have available to customize your order.

Employees are welcoming and sweet. The price for a drink is on the higher end. Overall a pleasant experience now that the line has died down, but won't be a daily or regular stop for me due to the price point.

Do not come here. I paid 8 bucks to get a half-filled cup of matcha that just tasted like milk. What a waste of money and a scam of a place

Cute matcha cafe with nice tables for friends gathering. Got the strawberry matcha latte and the banana oat matcha. The fruit flavor overpowered the matcha taste and I didn’t realize how small the portion was! $8 for a tiny cup of matcha is a bit pricey tbh.

Unassuming outside but so refined and quietly luxurious inside. I had the oat milk banana matcha with sesame on top, 75% sweetness. Beautifully presented and delicious. Place was packed at 10am on a Wednesday. Easy street parking though. Brought my small dog and there was another dog there.

Great real matcha shop — whisked fresh as you order. Beautiful store inside. Red bean matcha was great and not too sweet.
