Solid Chicken Teriyaki plate. The prices are very reasonable, considering the quality and quantity.

Really good take out teriyaki; perfect balance of flavors. If the spicy teriyaki isn't hot enough for you, they'll add extra spice. The shrimp yakisoba was also good and had plenty of vegetables.
I recommend take out only; the atmosphere is pretty drab.

The best Teriyaki on Capitol Hill. Generous portions, excellently cooked, crispy chicken. Lunch bowl is a decent deal. A teriyaki plate is two meals’ worth.

Ordered the stir fried veggies. 99% of it was cabbage, with 2 pieces of broccoli. Not worth it.

Overall the flavor of my chicken teriyaki was good. The egg roll was done perfectly. The service was ok. The problem I had was my food came out pretty quickly after I ordered it and it was Luke warm. Considering the chicken was supposed to be the star of the dish you can understand me frustrations. The best guess I have is that the chicken was already cooked and just sitting there waiting for someone to order it. The egg roll and rice were both hot with steam rising from them.

There were a lot of good things about the chicken teriyaki from here, but I did have one major issue that affected the overall experience
Starting with the good things, I found the teriyaki sauce to be really good. It was sweet, but not sickly so - a sauce that had just the right amount of sugar & viscosity to stick to the chicken and the rice without feeling immovable or transparent. It really did add a ton of flavor to both parts of the meal
I also thought the rice was decent enough. While on the drier side, it definitely did its job. also, there were small char marks on the chicken, indicating a good level of grilling
Another big plus was the portion size. This place gives you about 280g of rice with 450g of chicken, which is basically enough for two meals. For about $15, that's a pretty good deal - especially when something is as easy to reheat as this
The side salad was also good - I liked the dressing, which seemed to be a more citrus-y ranch sauce
The problem I had with the meal, though, was the chicken was just super dry. In my experience, it's not easy to have chicken thighs end up as dry as they did here. This had a huge impact on my enjoyment of the meal - because of the amount of chicken in here. When basically every piece is tough, chewy, and lacking juice, it's just not a fun eating experience.
My only explanation is this chicken was pre-sliced and sitting in the restaurant waiting for someone to order it, and it dried out in the meantime. This is also supported by the fact that my food was ready like 2 minutes after ordering. Whatever the reason, it's pretty inexcusable to have chicken this flavorless. I would've really liked this spot if not for this issue
Overall, there are some positives, but when the main attraction of the meal is bad as it is here, it gets a 6.5/10

Old teriyaki barely rewarmed drenched in sloppy sauce, strange tasting gyoza, dry stale cold rice. This place used to be good. The obnoxiously loud music in the seating area matched in volume by different music in the kitchen. 22.00 for the displeasure.

I provided special instructions for my bowl to substitute something and was charged an extra $4. The bowl is cheaper than most of the meals on the menu. I was basically almost charged for a regular meal after adding In the $4 and taxes. Terrible!

Yakisoba way too sweet for my taste. Overall the food was just "meh," but the portions are ridiculously large for the price. Fox News playing constantly in the dining area magically transforms this place from a "maybe" to a "nope".
