We dined outside on the last night in their Ballard Avenue location (before their move). Aside from several really loud groups nearby (who always fail to recognize how obnoxiously loud they are to fellow diners) the experience was terrific. We could have stopped after two appetizers (generous pork belly and cauliflower) but plowed forward with the NY strip and Tomahawk pork chop (the $265 Tomahawk steak that could feed four seemed a little much for the two of us). All were excellent. Service was great and attentive. The place is spendy for us out-of-towners but likely right in the groove for upscale locals and expense accounts. We'd go back but order differently. And seriously, when did it become a thing to nick the customer $35 for corkage?

We were travelling through and picked this restaurant based on the reviews, they have a good vibe and well stocked bar, the food was okay, nothing too outstanding, hard liquor & cocktail was great, although wine was rather average! Overall, slightly disappointed maybe we just have too much expectations. Staff were super friendly and there was an outdoor seating on the front street to accommodate dog.

We had a blast celebrating my birthday at this amazing restaurant. From our excellent and thoughtful server to our incredibly knowledgeable whiskey guide (she claims her title is "lush" but she is so much more than that!), it was an experience that none of us will soon forget. The food was so good - from the pasta to the steak to the surprise hit of the tomahawk pork chop - and the cocktails and whiskey flights made it even better. We immediately made another reservation for the next birthday in our group so we can celebrate all over again next month. Thank you, wonderful Ballard Cut staff, for making this such a special evening!

Took my fiance here with my mother for my fiance's birthday. It also happened to be Easter ?. The staff was still operating at top notch although other places were straight up closed. Glad we walked it.We ordered the seared octopus which was according to my mother who is an octopus fanatic some of the best she's ever had ??..., the scallops which were my favorite (5⭐)... and the spicy steam clams which my fiance adored (delicious green curry base). Over all amazing experiences for grabbing some cocktails and a small bite with friends or family. Come show this place some love so it can stick around ?

One of the best places for food and drinks in Ballard!

The very best meats, subtly spiced and cooked to perfection. My grilled Tomahawk pork chop was served on a bed of fresh-ground Anson Mills grits, topped with a delicious shredded salad and accompanied by a nicely herbed celeriac. The Stone Fruit Sidecar (with peach de vine, creme de cerise, and the herbal extract quinoa) was sweet, sour, and light enough to be refreshing. This place is a gem—lively, but still possible to have a conversation. Great indie music (Kurt Vile, etc.) is a plus.

Food was good. Felt like it was a limited selection for of all things, salad and sides. Also we ordered something that was market price. Our server misquoted the price by $110. Pretty disappointing

This was my second time dining here. It was fabulous on both occasions! My only gripe is that they no longer offered the crusted halibut that I was looking forward to ordering again. Still, the food we had was still delicious and I will likely return.

Just took my husband here for his birthday and it was fantastic. While my main choice reserving here was for my husband to enjoy the mind-boggling amount of whiskeys they offer, I was pleasantly surprised on how well prepared their food was. We ordered a nice spicy arrabiata pasta dish and Tom Kha inspired type stew. We both enjoyed our meals and felt inspired afterwards especially as we both enjoy cooking at home. Also they surprised my husband with a lovely horchata cake and candle. He enjoyed the whiskey and food. And promises to come back again. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Especially with providing a run down of all the different whiskey options and favorites.

My husband and I did not have a good experience here. Neither of us enjoyed our drinks. He ordered the aviation and said he could have made it better himself. I ordered the lemonade which was way too bitter. We both ordered the New York steak and when I asked if I could have regular potatoes instead of sweet, as I really don't like sweet potatoes, our waitress said they don't allow substitutions. It's frustrating because I'm almost paying $60 for a meal and I have to have a meal knowing I won't eat half of it. It's not like they don't have regular potatoes either. They had them available for their Tomahawk steak. So why can't I have them with the New York? My husband hated his steak. Mine was fine. After spending almost $200, we left frustrated and hungry. Definitely will not go back.

Love the Ballard Cut! Great food and service. Appreciate a menu that has a lot of options yet all within an easily digestible (no pun intended!) menu. From red meat to pasta to seafood, a really wonderful offering. And of course, if you want to do a flight of whiskeys, it's a truly memorable and wonderful experience.

Great beet salad and the sirloin were delicious. The only irritation was the bench seat table where the benches were too close to table. We aren't large people and the table was too close on both sides. Anyway, it was delicious. We will return!

Walked right in and sat at the bar. Had a few drinks. Ordered the NY, it was perfect. Tiramisu also perfect. Excellent bourbon selection.

First of all, WOW. This place is outstanding - from the ambiance, to the service, to the drinks, to the food, to the overall vibe of the restaurant! My boyfriend and I made a reservation for our anniversary. We wanted to go someplace special. After reading great reviews about this place, we decided to try it! For a Tuesday, the place was packed. We definitely recommend placing a reservation. We were seated in a booth by the window and the vibe felt somewhere between Chicago and New York. Chic, yet a rustic charm. Our waiter was very personable, timely, and knowledgeable. He was quick with our requests and updated us when wait times were unusually long. We appreciated the communication! If you are a cocktail/ whisky connoisseur, this is your place. We wish we could have ordered more drinks, but the cider and cocktail we ordered were delicious. THE FOOD WAS BEYOND FLAVORFUL. My boyfriend and I shared the crispy cauliflower, crispy pork belly, and the tomahawk ribeye. First, the crispy cauliflower was not what I had expected. The amount of flavor and seasoning they coated in the cauliflower was amazing. The sauce and puree added a new depth of flavor I cannot explain. Regardless, I 10/10 recommend it! The crispy pork belly was just as flavorful. It could have been more tender, but the flavor profile makes up for it! They were also generous with the amount you get per plate, so that's a bonus. The "Big Boy" Ribeye/ "The Cut" was a show stopper. It was seasoned to perfection, cooked to perfection, and cut to perfection, 10000/10 would recommend! We could tell people that had walked by the restaurant, stopped to look at our ribeye from the window. Beautifully cooked and highly enjoyable! We will definitely be back for a second time!
