Some unique liquor selection in this place, great vibe and great food. I like the peace and quite, and Ballard mule. Potatoes are very fragrant and delicious. The lettuce wrap platter is a great shared dish, hope it could have more meat though.
Absolutely delish drinks and bites! The Lilith cocktail was exquisite and the potatoes are phenomenal but everything else we tried was also great. Excellent service, too. We'll be back.
Tasty food and cocktails, their back room is super cute! Full of plants and their wall paper makes you feel like you are in a jungle. I wish there was a 4.5 star option because the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because both of the fried eggs on the dishes we ordered had hard yolks instead of a runny ones.
Sat outside. I had the pork belly and it was delicious. Chicken wings were pretty good as well. Server was clearly white American that didn't know much about Korean food, though.
Took out Bossam and Korean Fried Chicken Wings. I wouldn't say it is authentic but there are foods better than authentic.Bossam: the salted cabbage was too much salted. Wasn't able to mingle with the potk belly well. I tasted only salt and others. The radish kimchi was just flat. But the pork belly was really good and crispy.Korean Fried Chocken Wings: expected bit crispy one but probably it got soggy when i came home. The seasoning itself was tasty and not spicy for me. But, once I had a single bite, I tasted just wing without seasoning.Overall experience for my first visit wasn't impressive, but I would dine in for next time and try different things.
My acquaintance with Korean food is less than passing, but this restaurant is steps from the hotel I usually stay at, and I wanted to try it. I'd read many good things. The Gerald lived up to it, and more. The Ballard Old Fashioned was clearly an Old Fashioned but there was a divine hint of something else--don't know if it was the special bitters or quite possibly the laphroaig rinse. It's like putting makeup on a beautiful human--just accentuates it. The food--I had the best tofu I'd ever eaten, served on skewers with jorim sauce, and I tried something that sounded scrumptious, called Tteokbokki--chewy rice cake "noodles" with fish cake and spicy with a sweet note, chewy, yummy. rice cake and fish cake in spicy sauce with white cheddar and pepperjack cheese and a spicy sauce (just short of "Ow, my tastebuds.") The menu calls it "the og of Korean street food." The image of street food went up a notch. After the whole thing, the bill was half what I expected to pay. No rushing, and great waitstaff. I will come back.
An okay place for dinner and drinks. They have a wide selection of very ornate cocktails. I opted for beer because I didn't know what half the things in the cocktails were. Probably my limited palate, but would be a good place to try if you're more of cocktail enthusiast.I had a bulgogi skewer and a spicy street food dish (forgot what it was called). The food was good, but the skewer was really small.
Our waiter was kind, patient and helpful. We came for the cocktails and stayed for the food, all of which was delicious! I wasn't sure if they'd have gluten free or celiac friendly options but they did! After making my selection the waiter informed me of a shared fryer and suggested an alternative. Would highly recommend! The pork belly was melt in your mouth amazing!
Came for a late dinner as thankful they were still seating as money other eateries had stopped seating. Nice and friendly service, food was quite tasty and priced reasonably. Ssam plate was light and refreshing whereas the kalbi was enough as a shared plate. Interesting cocktails!
Huge sharable portions of food and everything was seasoned perfectly. I definitely will make stop here again on my next trip to Seattle.

Came for a later evening dinner and drinks. The tables under the outdoor tent have a great heat lamp setup for the cooler nights. Good variety of cocktails or Soju if you're in the mood. All the food was delicious and we were happy sharing some skewers, small plates, and the bibimbap.
Incredible food, service, and drinks!!! Came for one cocktail, ended up getting 6 and dinner. I didn’t know there were levels to skewers, but this place was over 9000.Highly recommend and can’t wait to take friends back to this place.
First time here, and I am impressed. Happy hour was great, the drinks were delicious and the food was so good. The Gerald is definitely a great place to go to when you’re in Ballard.
The drinks are pretty good but the food is nothing special. Most of the people at my table thought the food was too salty.
I love this place!! Our waiter was so wonderful and sweet. The food was to DIE for. Cocktails were yummy. What a lovely little happy hour in Ballard
