The donut was okay- I went a little later in the day and it had the — been out for a couple hours texture and taste. Which, is own me. However— the donuts did seem like they had potential had I been there to catch them— fresh out.
Worth going back to give them another shot. Plus, the guy working there when I went — was super friendly!!
So cute! Friendly staff, excellent coffee, charming decor and very clean bathroom. Plus the Capitol Hill neighbourhood is lovely. Don’t miss this place.
Such a yummy place to stop in. They always have a large variety of pastries with their iconic donuts. I got the variety 10 pack so I could try each flavor and it was so worth it. The donuts are fresh, cooked perfectly, and not over powering. They also have a variety of drinks you can get. The atmosphere is also very chill with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I definitely recommend stopping by!
So who doesn't love top pot donuts??? Best donuts ever. Most of all, this top pot has the most wonderful owners. I love watching the constant flow of traffic, most of whom the owners know by name and sometimes even a bit about them personally. They don't just sell delicious round things, but have embraced their community adding a special personal 'something' to the donut experience. In short, buy a donut and coffee (superb by the way) and it comes with an extra welcome that makes the day better.
The right way to start your day is at this Top Pot. I have become a dedicated regular and the amazing staff is 100% the reason. Yes, the coffee is great, and yes, the doughnuts are insanely good (Pershings are a secret treat), but the real treat are the people. 10/10 recommend.
Delicious breads and donuts, variety to consume on site or to take home

My first time in. We flew into Seattle instead of the Vancouver airport so I wanted to stop here. Loved the location and walkability/easy parking, and the atmosphere of this place. We were greeted by a super friendly staff member who apologized for the lack of variety this morning -- we arrived at 10:40 (Friday morning) and he said it had been an unusually busy morning. I still thought there was a great selection; I didn't even realize they were low so I'm just imagining what it's like at full capacity.
When we first walked in, I knew to expect a cool book vibe (I have a doughnut cookbook from this company so they talk about it in the intro) but it was even cooler than I expected. Very warm, retro, and cozy. It doesn't feel like one of several locations; it feels like a chill neighborhood single-location shop. I definitely wanted to hang out and look at the books (which you can pull off the shelf to read) but we had to hit the road for Vancouver, so we just did take-out.
The guy who served us was so dang friendly and helped suggest what we should try by taking us through the doughnut hole selection (which I just realized are called "pot holes" - ha! clever).
We got the basics since I was super curious what I should be expecting when I use the cookbook again. The doughnuts were room temp by this time of day (expected) but there was still a nice crunch on the exterior and soft interior. My favourites were the old fashioned, powdered sugar, and cinnamon sugar. Least fave was the chocolate with chocolate glaze (but I've actually never had a chocolate doughnut I've loved even though I'm otherwise a strictly-chocolate dessert fan). The orange and chocolate was really good but a little too sweet for me, although the flavor of the orange really hit and the texture was great. It wasn't achingly sweet, but I preferred the old fashioned's level of just-sweet-enough.
They do also have filled doughnuts (like Bavarian cream) as well as bars (like maple doughnut bars), and coffee etc.
I'd like to come back mid-week early morning to see the full display of doughnuts!
Parking: We pulled right up in front at 10:40am on Friday, not sure how it is at other times.

top pot makes fantastic donuts. Some decorative and fun and modern but most importantly reliable old-fashioned cake donuts! The staff is very kind and the coffee is also good.

Hands down the best neighborhood coffee shop in Seattle because of the staff. I feel lucky that I get to come here any day of the week.

Cute little place, lovely spot to sit around in during the early morning hours. Service is always reliably fast and friendly.
Cake doughnuts and other specialty things are sadly sort of mediocre but the yeast doughnuts are on point, the coffee isn't bad and is priced fairly.
