Villa Escondido has delicious food, but it seems like that’s where it ends. It seems like more of a bar than a restaurant. Walking in you wouldn’t think it was a restaurant, but they have a section in the back with lots of seating and a couple of seats upfront. The place itself seems dirty and could use a good cleaning or refresh. The service was pretty good and our servers were responsive and helpful. We ordered the Emirates de pollo (mole) and the enchiladas verdes and both...
Looks like a dive on the outside but so cool on the inside. Staff is amazing! The tamales were fantastic as were the margaritas. Family owned/ran restaurant. The mole for the tamales is a family recipe from the grandmother that was fresh made that day and so good! Highly recommended.
