I used to love to go here and, honestly it's still good however, it really needs to be cleaned, and upgraded. The paper menus arrive crinkled from water or what not dropped on them. The service is decent but not excellent and attentive, more rushed and obligatory. The menu hasn't changed for at least a decade. The food is quite good but not excellent. Everything just seems like the owner doesn't really care much anymore. Nonetheless we still go once in awhile.

I get take out here about once every month or two because my partner lives at a nearby care center. The salmon is excellent, love the beef stew (French style of course), the ravioli and the bread do not disappoint. I was disappointed tonight to put in an order online and get a call about an hour before pick up time that they could not fulfill the order. It is Valentine’s Day, so of course they were busy. I already paid, so hopefully the refund is prompt. My partner is not able to go to a restaurant. I felt that there should have been a bit more info regarding the refund, but I had to get off the call and make new plans to get us fed. I’ve had a glass of wine in the restaurant and enjoy the appearance and atmosphere.

We’ve been here many times, and we SO want to like it. French food is a favorite of ours.
But sadly they just don’t usually have the level that we are hoping for. There are much better French restaurants in the city.
One example that we use to gauge a French place is their onion soup. This was actually pretty bad. They slapped a store-bought slice of bad processed cheese. It was not the appropriate cheese. Then it got worse. They broiled it to the point where it had char on it. Want the appropriate cheese to use under a broiler. The broth was overly salted and not well-developed.
The salad nicoise was okay. No complaints really except the tinned tuna. Just not worth what we paid.
The service is always nice and the atmosphere is fun and quaint.
Don’t get me wrong; there are some fine things on the menu but it’s a very missed bag.
Parking is impossible.

You know, I was really excited to go here with friends but the service was horrible which made me regret going here. The waitress/server seemed extremely judgmental, did not smile at us, rushed us and just felt cold all in it. As someone who has worked in the food industry before, I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt by thinking maybe she’s having a bad day or felt overwhelmed but as time passed, the more we couldn’t help but feel she was giving off vibes that we “weren’t good enough” for the place. Nothing was said but her actions/body language really gave off this vibe. I don’t know if it’s because I was dressed casual or what? Though I saw other people dressed casual? We were behaved and was just catching up with each other so I really don’t know… The food was pretty good, escargo was a bit dry. Creme brûlée was so so. Pasta was decent. I’m hesitant to go back because of the poor customer service experience we had…..
