it’s like being served a fantastic home cooked meal by a professional chef on their day off. Incredible service, and unlike most restaurants in Seattle you leave FULL and satisfied. You can smell your food being made, and the restaurant is incredibly cozy with the kitchen able to be seen from your table. Wonderful experience and the food was amazing! Definitely worth every penny and reasonable prices too! They even gave us our gelato on the house!

This is one of the best restaurants I have been to in Seattle! I have celiac disease and they had many gluten free options. The staff were all very friendly and were very accommodating. Atmosphere was cozy/homey. Will be returning and recommending to friends and family!

My uncle called the chef from the ICU at UW and told him he was an old French guy looking for some great Italian food. The chef invited my uncle and myself to come have dinner before they even open. He invited us in and treated us like family. The food was phenomenal. From the homemade bread, to caprese salad, to salmon with dill sauce and fresh pasta. The chef checked on us often and made sure my uncle was treated like a king after a long hospital stay. He even hugged us when we left. The restaurant itself is small and homey, and smells like heaven. I highly recommend this amazing spot to anyone who loves Italian food and wonderful service.

Great food, server was absolutely wonderful and the atmosphere is cozy and secluded.
Prices are $20 or so a dish and the portion sizes were good. Plenty of attention from the waiter, the chef came out to check on everyone when it got quiet and I would absolutely recommend. Tried the moussaka, pasta and gnocchi.

I needed comfort and this place delivered. Cozy and unpretentious - Tender, melting Osso Bucco and the gnocchi side was pillowy and cheesy. Great, crumbly bread (semolina?) generous green salads with delicious dressing, big pours. I will be back again and again! Thanks to Chef Abe and the staff for a wonderful evening after a long, hard day. I am revived!

Myself and some friends chose Zouave for a Sunday night sit down dinner. Although the restaurant seemed short staffed (one server and one chef) they were able to accommodate a table of 8 while serving other customers. The service was friendly and efficient, and the chef even decided to visit our table not once but twice. Everyone was impressed with their dishes and I will definitely be returning.

Great homey experience. The chef is nice and experienced. Feels like a neighborhood spot you’ve always wished you’ve had near you. Good back patio

The eggplant appetizer: 4.5 (a bit less cheese and would have been a 5)
The cioppino: 5
The polenta: 3 (or less - was way too salty)
Service: 4
Would go again - just wouldn’t order polenta.
Sorry for the photos - we were so hungry, we kept forgetting to take clean pictures before digging in.
