I was looking for a bite to eat a place that was open late. The Safari Room satisfied both conditions. It was open seating and we didn't have any reservations going in. There was plenty of seating. It helps that this restaurant is set in a hotel, and some of the seating used is in the hotel lobby as well. The food was excellent and good quality too!
Caleb is amazing!

We came in with about 12 women from a private group, last Thursday at the Safari room and were very disappointed in our service. We had previously spoken with the manager who got us very excited to host our event here. We had hosted an event at another Davenport restaurant the Peacock lounge a month prior with great success and amazing service.
Upon entry to the bar area, bartenders were literally avoiding eye contact with us and didn’t address us for over 10 minutes. We felt like we were an inconvenience. We then went and asked where our reserved area was supposed to be, the bartender said go ask someone else I have no idea what you’re talking about. We asked another server who started setting up an area for us in the dining area. One server was in charge of the section. It wasn’t terribly busy, but he was MIA the majority of our evening there. I had to flag him down both times he came over to our table. Girls ended up getting up and going back to the bar to order drinks because he just wouldn’t come back. I couldn’t believe it. It was very challenging to even get our checks. The food and drinks were good, but the service wasn’t. Our group was so excited about getting together here, and I’m just very disappointed in the experience. I doubt we’ll be able to convince the group to return.

February 5th 2025 me and my dear friend decided to spend some time at Safari room by the fireplace, easy slow Wednesday evening.
Restaurant 30% busy .
The first server lady ( sorry , don't know her name)in her '50s showed up, ask if we want to order something. My friend start talking. She ( server )would not look at her( my friend) looked away kind of start ignoring her.... We order 1tea and started waiting for her to come back after 7 to 10 minutes. I went to the restaurant area and asked for another tea because nobody came back and she brought one tea and then approximately another 10 minutes of waiting. I asked where is another tea and she said -it's coming!!!! I wanted to ask is it coming from Coeur d'Alene or where is it coming from? Why it's so long?....
Then we got our food.
Then another server check on us ( she was in her 20 's and she was nice.)
Approximately at 8: 25 I called our server that we are ready to go. We need our check. She wavened me like she's coming back and we waited for another 15 minutes!
It's ridiculous! I worked for Davenport hotel. I had the best memories of this place!
I never experienced such a negative and terrible service like today!!!!
Not acceptable!!!!

Went to watch football and sip a cocktail on January 1, and the bar was closed. Hugely disappointed! Found someone who said she didn't know when she'd open it. Hmm.

The food tasted like hamburger helper at best. I have had far better food, for less money.

The ambience was wild, literally! The hummus plate and potato leek soup were delicious! The coffee was also delightful. The staff was friendly and efficient. A lovely experience!

Really good service but I am kind of disappointed with the food options and service. Almost no vegan and vegetarian options.

The so-called "bartender" Colton was SO pretentious and rude!! And didn't know how to make a drink! He made two different drinks completely incorrectly, and then got pissy with my wife (veteran bartender) and I (F&B Director) when we told him.
Absolutely the WORST experience we've ever had at a Davenport Hotel. We have been regular customers there for over 20 years.

Stayed at the Davenport Tower for 4 nights and ended up eating at the Safari Room a lot. Each time, the service was spectacular. I especially wanted to compliment the breakfast crew. On both an insanely busy day and a fairly empty day, they were consistently friendly, attentive, and thought ahead to whatever we might have needed. Queenie and Sutton were amazing. It didn't hurt that the breakfast food was excellent as well - they really know their way around eggs!
It's like a movie set
