Nothing to write home about, but worthy of a review. Service was basic and nothing over the top. Coffee was not that good.Food was okay. My French toast was cooked next to onions or peppers. So that residual taste was disappointing. The pancakes were really tasty but definitely one was a bit burnt. Eggs and bacon were good, but I would be concerned if they missed the mark on that. Our server, Hanna, was the absolute perfect combination of friendly, helpful, attentiveness and discretion. The entire time there we felt well taken care of without feeling pressured or overburdened. The food was amazing! The chorizo gravy layered on the chicken fries steak was amazing. Everything comes out of the kitchen prepared perfectly. Stopped for a late breakfast at Alfred's for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious omelette and eggs Benedict (California style on each).

Large diner size portions and fair prices ensures that we will return again at our next stop in Tacoma! The cafe is much larger than it appears from the outside and we enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and friendly staff.
