There's gotta be better BBQ places to eat in Tacoma. When I went they were outta half their menu and the food we could order was extremely disappointing.

This is a great, neighborhood bbq restaurant; a third generation history. The food is prepared with a Texas bbq influence; recommend ordering the sauce on the side to enjoy the range of taste. We had pulled pork and chicken with greens, cole slaw, and baked beans for sides. Left with enough for another meal. You will arrive welcomed and depart blessed.

Love to support small businesses so this will be me helping. Ordered a quick bobs snack pack and I felt totally ripped off once I saw what I got, 1 slice of bread chips and a soda with 3 ribs with barely any meat. Spent $10 with a tip. Couldāve gotten more meat off one cheeseburger.
Brisket was dry and overcooked
Mac and cheese was cold and runny
I did like the slaw though!

Omg the flavor was insane my fiancee and I ordered the meat sampler and thoroughly enjoyed it the only thing better than the food was the service out standing!!!
Good simple bbq done perfectly! Everything was exactly what I hope for in a BBQ joint but never quite found elsewhere in Western Washington.
Even though everything i had stood out as superb (baked beans, collard greens, cornbread, sweet tea, chicken, hot links and ribs - i was hungry) a few things stood out even further somehow... the collard greens and sweet tea.
I got one of each of their desserts to go, and I'm really happy I did. I'm not a huge sweets person, but that's most certainly because I don't often find sweets as good as their pound cake or their sweet potato pie.
Everyone here was very nice as well. I look forward to coming back when I'm in the area and ordering racks and pies to pickup for special occasions, despite them being very much out of my way.

As a certified BBQ judge, I take my barbecue seriouslyāand I always focus on how well the meat is cooked. While seasoning preferences vary across regions, properly cooked meat is a universal standard.
I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and (I believe) his motherāboth incredibly kind and welcoming. Their hospitality alone makes this place worth visiting.
I ordered the two-meat plate: ribs and brisket. The ribs, which the owner proudly recommended, were excellent. They had a perfect tender pull without falling off the boneājust how properly cooked ribs should be. The flavor was solid, though I would have preferred to try them without the sauce, which was poured over the top.
The brisket, unfortunately, was a bit tough. The flavor was decent, but the texture missed the mark, especially since brisket is a personal favorite of mine.
Overall, the ribs were a standout, and the warm, family-run vibe made the experience memorable. Iāll definitely be backāif not just for the ribs, then for the people.

Amazing BBQ Chicken, Coleslaw and BBQ Sauce. I bought a bottle of the BBQ sauce and it gets better each time I use it. Very unique flavor. If you want good BBQ in Western Washington this should hit the mark for you.
Okay so let me be clear that this isn't the kind of place You're going to rush into and really quickly get your food and get out. That's not how this works. They take time they're chatting with you they're having a conversation. There's a little elderly lady who is going to tell you all about her day. When you finally do get your food this is going to be the best barbecue you've ever had in your life. They literally have the smoker right out front you can smell it coming down the block. This is a slow burn building up to the crescendo that is excellent barbecue food so I want to hear nobody complaining about how long it took to get their food perfection takes time That being said the brisket was amazing I'm going to try the chicken next time I go in. The potato salad was great. The cornbread was great. The sweet potato pie was great. The mac and cheese was great. The only thing that wasn't a 10 and instead was like a 9.2 was the collard greens. They just need a little bit more seasoning. But everything else, best barbecue ever!

Great place to eat !!
Bobās Bar-B-Q served up some really good BBQ! I had the rib dinner, and it did not disappoint. The ribs were flavorful, and the potato salad and baked beans were spot on. I love supporting small business owners, and this place definitely gave off those warm, Southern family vibes. Iāll be back for sure!
Looked sketch from outside, but we walked in and were hit with a wall of the smoky scent of zero regrets. The coleslaw was perfect, not too sweet, not too much vinegar. The meats (tried the chicken, brisket, and ribs) were a little on the dry side, but well smoked, and the sauce is bomb. The baked beans were nothing special, but I am completely obsessed with that coleslaw!!
With such a rich family history.....I was embarrased that the food was as bad as it was. I felt like when I walked out the place I would find people holding their stomachs with one hand doubled over with laughter and pointing at me with their other.
I kept expecting a camera crew to come from out the back along with a bunch of laughter and knee slapping telling me I got pranked......but it never happenedš¤¦š¾āāļøš¤¦š¾āāļøš¤¦š¾āāļø. This was a real experienceš³.
Such nice people too but their food was so bad I called my 79 year old mother to tell her about their food after I ran to my car and she was upset that I finished the food and and did ask for my money back.
If you lived in a community for over 20 years and never heard of a place....there is a reason.
BBQ sauce should never be poured all over any kind of BBQ meat. It should be on the side and the well seasoned meat should actually stand on its own.
ALL of the BBQ meat was nasty.
The sauce was worse.
The potato salad was tasteless.
The macaroni was so salty that I started using it as seasoning for my meat and potatoe salad.
This is NOT Tacoma's best BBQ.....
I wanted to find out more about the family history on this place but changed my mind after my first bite. I did not want to make them uncomfortable by getting up quickly and running out the place after the second bite so I forced myself to eat all of it.
Please stop telling people its the best BBQ in town. I am sure it was a very long time ago but something tells me that Bob didnt make his BBQ that way.
There service was outstanding.
Please learn how to cook fresh BBQ meat....season your meat. Do a community taste test and get real feedback. Make all of your food from scratch.
I do not think anyone that works there has actually tasted the meat or sauce before. There is absolutely NO WAY!!!!!
By far the best BBQ you will find around tacoma. I love this place been coming here for year's and will continue as long as they are open. Highly recommend if you want some good BBQ from some nice people!
