Swung by for the first time on Friday night. The drinks were good!! It was extremely dark inside, though, like almost pitch black. I couldn't see the decor well enough to appreciate it, because it felt like being at the Pirates of the Caribbean ride with the power out ???.There's a wall-height fountain with a stone facade that I thought was awesome, but it wasn't running at the time. The staff, esp the guy checking IDs Friday night was super friendly and kind :)Parking: Minute amount of street parking in the alley, probably mostly occupied by nearby residents, and most of the closest parking options are paid. Expect to walk the hills a little bit

Please visit only if you're ready for the best tiki bar experience of your life. But seriously, it is delightful and though the menu overwhelming the bartenders will get creative if you tell them what you'd like.Have never had their food over all these years but the drinks are worth the trip alone.

We stopped here for a drink and an appetizer before dinner, and we will absolutely be coming back. The atmosphere is so fun and immersive. The drinks are absolutely delicious and unique. We also ordered the tacos and they were the perfect pairing with our tiki drinks.

Undoubtedly the best tiki bar here in Washington state! The menu is chock full of original cocktails, the decor is exactly what you’d expect to see for a Lovecraftian nautical theme, and the bar staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I’m going to have to find more reasons to visit Tacoma just to come back to Devil’s Reed again and again.

This bar has a really cool atmosphere. You can tell they put a lot of time and money into the decor. The drinks are also on theme, a little on the pricier side but you're paying for the experience. It does get really busy on weekends and without a reservation it can be an hour and a half wait.

I've been a fan since Tacoma Cabana, but I love Devil's Reef so much more. The vibe is incredible but isn't gimmicky- the food and drinks DELIVER. I love sitting at the bar and hearing the bartender's recommendations as well. Get there early though; I arrived at 4:45, 15 minutes before opening on a Saturday, and there was already a line. This place is worth it!

My physical menu was taken away because a server “needed the only copy” for a different table. Just print more and I’ll give you 5stars….was extremely

If you're in the area of Tacoma, Washington, definitely stop by Devil's Reef. It's on my list of one of the better tiki bars around the country. The look of the bar is pleasing to the eye. Upon entry, you lose yourself to the escapism created by the interior. The staff is amazing and very knowledgeable. Fresh ingredients are prepared in-house, and the bartenders are several steps above the average. The drinks are well balanced and delicious. Food items are offered and make a proper meal, plus they pair well with the cocktails. Definitely stop by this spot and enjoy great ambiance, good people as well as food and drink. It does not disappoint. Tiki peeps, you'll definitely want to make this a destination. However, all will enjoy!

Our go-to place for a night out. The drink menu is big, but each drink has a rating for strength and good description, and you can always ask for a recommendation. The food is good too, it doesn't take too long to arrive. No complaints about the service, and the longest wait we had was around 30 minutes. An overall winner.

We were looking for somewhere to get a great drink and a light meal after visiting Zoo Lights on a rainy December evening and thought this joint might be the perfect spot for us. Forget what you think a tiki bar is (1950s retro, over priced drinks made with cheap booze, plastic palm trees) and open your mind to what a tiki bar should be. The vibe of tropical places and kitsch is alive and well here, but so is an amazing array of excellent rums, and a cocktail list that must surely have something for everyone. The bar tender did a great job of guiding me a cocktail that was just right. It seems the kitchen closes early evening sometimes, but we just made it in under the deadline. A few shortages, but the spicy sausage dog I had and the pulled pork sliders that my wife had were just right. Nothing fancy here except for the drinks, but solid bar grub. A little had to spot from the street this place winds back into the bowels of the building. Lots of nooks perfect for small groups, a good looking bar, and even a lounge with some sofas. All eclectic and perfect for the vibe.

In the middle of Tacoma lies a somewhat hidden tiki bar with fantastic drinks and food. The "vibes" are fantastic, as is the subtle tiki music and flickering lamp light. A lot of booths are tucked away for a private evening and we had really enjoyable service. If you are looking for a tropical escape, Devil's Reef is a great option. Good luck picking a drink though, the menu is massive and will take a while to read and choose.

I love this tiki bar. It has such a fun tropical vibe. They serve delicious food and have an extensive themed drink menu. The bartenders are kind, patient, and helpful when asked about recommendations.
