They have a small selection of food. The food was pretty good but you're not coming here for that. The stars are the atmosphere and the drinks. It is dark with lots of flickering lantern light. Everything is wood and there are all kinds of pirate kitsch everywhere but it works. It feels like you're an extra in Pirates of the Caribbean. An H.P. Lovecraft themed Tiki Bar! Excellent service, great vibes, and a stellar Eldritch feel to the place. I was as excitable as a pulp noir detective at the Gilman Hotel in Innsmouth itself!
Devil’s Reef has been on my tiki bucket list ever since reading about them in Minimalist Tiki. It did not disappoint.
I make a commando grog at home.. and it just doesn’t stand up to what they’re making at Devil‘s Reef. The rum builds, the syrups, the ingredients.. all of it is top notch. Bartenders were very knowledgeable and friendly.
Highly recommend stopping in here if you’re in Tacoma.
