I've been coming to E9 on and off for 30 years. I've seen the beer evolve from meh to amazing. Today, it is arguably the best beer in the South Sound. The atmosphere has changed very little over the years--and that's a good thing. The service and the food have always been fantastic. This is a great neighborhood pub that is worth repeat visits.
This is one of my and my husband's favorite places in Tacoma or just in general really. The food is consistently delicious. They have rotating specials that are always really good. They have a great beer selection. A dog friendly patio. The staff is friendly and attentive. This is always my first recommendation when someone is looking for a place to eat in Tacoma. I've never been disappointed in anything I've tried and the staff always take great care of us.
The atmosphere of an real firehouse was fun. It was a chill place. It was a afternoon lunch and it was busy but comfortable. It must not have been a good day for the chef as my fish on the Katsu Fish Taco was cool and rubbery, hate to say it, but tasteless. However the French fries were flavorful and the coleslaw slaw and Pico de gallo with tortilla was fine. My friends seemed fine with their meals. I was in Tacoma on business so I won't be back anytime soon to try there...
