I got the grit city with rosemary salt bagel, lox in box with sesame bagel, and plain bagel. Everything but the bagels were great. The bagel exterior was so so chewy. I wouldn't recommend the bagels unless you enjoy beef jerky type of chewiness. My jaw was sore for the rest of the day after having it for a late lunch. I really wanted to like it. Parking is not easy.

Mind blowing bagels! I got a pastarami egg and cheese and it was terrific! Coffee is great too. They use Olympia coffee and drinks are spot on.

We found this gem after moving to Tacoma last summer and it has become a staple in our household. If you’re looking for a delicious bagel/sandwich/coffee worth every penny - this is your spot. Not to mention I drink my coffee exclusively from Howdy Bagel merch mugs!! Carve out the time in your day to get in here!

Took about 30 minutes all in all, order was missing some add ons, and payed ab $15 for 1 bagel, which I couldn’t eat because the bread was so tough.

The absolute best bagels in the area. I am from NY and that means I'm a bagel snob, but these bagels meet my standards. Despite the lines and wait time (totally worth it) the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. The people serving you make you feel very welcome. I LOVE coming here. This place is a little gem.

My partner and I both ordered the lox sandwiches and small drinks. The juice from the onions completely soaked through my bagel and it was mushy upon opening. My partner’s bagel was stale and took a lot of effort to bite through. A very disappointing experience for $40.

I don't leave reviews for places often but I felt compelled to following my visit this morning after the long exhale I let out taking that first bite.

There isn't a bad thing on the menu as the howdy crew puts so much care and thought into everything, so this isn't meant to knock their sandwiches (which are excellent and creative everytime). If you haven't gotten just a bagel with cream cheese to really let the immaculate quality of their bagels shine, you are doing yourself a disservice. Chewy, fluffy and flavorful in all the right ways. Truly beautiful. As a side note, their chai is also fantastic, perfectly spiced and not too sweet.

Howdy continues to be a beacon of the breakfast scene in Tacoma and is always in my top recommendations for family and friends who are visiting. I write this sitting in the WinCo parking lot considering going back for second breakfast.

Easily the best bagels I’ve ever had! The bagel sandwiches are always made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and you can really taste the difference. I’ve become a regular because everything is consistently delicious, and the service is reliably good too. The only downside is the wait (usually around 30 minutes) but honestly, it’s a small price to pay for food this good. Definitely worth it every time

Hot pastrami bagel on rosemary. Forget about it. GREAT pastrami in there. Juicy, thicker, and there was plenty of it. The rosemary sea salt accents that fattiness perfectly.

Such a cute hidden gem in the area. I tried the Lox in the Box and Grit City Lox—it looked amazing, and tasted great. Grabbed a couple of different cream cheeses and handmade bagels to go, and they were all good. They also have cute merch that adds to the charm. Would definitely go back if I'm in the area.

They stop making hot sandwiches at 2pm.

Finally got the chance to try howdy bagels! Honestly so worth the hype, we got the rosemary salt bagels and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Crunchy and soft with the perfect amount of salt (for salt lovers). There absolutely will be quite a long line so be prepared. The indoor is decorated in a perfect western/hipster theme. Prices are fairly typical. We got the sausage egg and cheese add ago and it had a delicious aioli on it. We also did the avo boast which was great for vegetarians! Iced vanilla latte was surprisingly good but quite small for a medium. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in town!
Be warned: there is very little seating inside, only a few tables which were completely full with their own lines by opening.
