I recently dined at this restaurant, and unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. The burgers were a big letdown – the meat was cold inside, overcooked, dry, and completely lacking in flavor. Music was terrible and unbearably loud, making it hard to hold a conversation. While the service was okay, it wasn’t enough to make up for the poor food and uncomfortable atmosphere. I won’t be coming back, nor would I recommend it to others.

When asking for the bill, the server simply said “together or separate” to which I said together, and she reached out her hand for my credit card without telling me a total. The card terminal was auto-set to a generous 25% percent I was not offered a receipt but a polite thank you. I would have caught a miscommunication of non- happy hour pricing had the server given the total instead of a screen of gratuity which I was happy to pay. Normally I might also catch this on a receipt. I was just a bit surprised upon checking my statement. Called in for clarification and evidently there was a menu pricing update the server might not have been made aware of. We are neighbors of Manuscript and have come for happy hour drinks on a few occasions. P

I love the vibe of this place. The decor and atmosphere is on point. I love the old typewriters and French music.
I admit, I expected the menu to be a little more interesting. And I missed having the option of a paper menu.
But the Rueben my hubs ordered was delicious.
I want to go back for brunch.

Very nice experience with my wife last night. There have been several restaurants in this spot, and I hope this one makes it. Nice decorating and appropriate lighting. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Food was very good; pork belly rub was a very nice starter, with a delicious glazing. Wife had fried chicken with nice, crispy fries that she loved, and I had the smashburger, with a tangy sauce that was a cut above. We were seated near the big glass garage doors and it was maybe a tad chilly, so I left my jacket on; there are curtains that they may want to draw a bit earlier in the evening. Other than that, a very nice dinner.

The food is hit or miss. Asked the waitress what was good and she recommended the The ranchero and described it as “huevos rancheros” like the Mexican dish. But it was just a quesadilla. The banana bread pudding was also very dry, nothing pudding about it. Slightly disappointed. I would give it another chance because the service was friendly and the restaurant had a very pleasant atmosphere.

I can’t even explain how awful the management is. We came in and ordered off the happy hour menu, the server who was rude, unfriendly and bad at their job didn’t tell us it was no longer available even though it still in the menus. We were over charged because you shoved a credit card machine in our face laughably preset to a %25 tip. The manager then decides to do nothing about it. The sound in this place it terrible and you smash ever customer into a corner making the noise unbearable bc you’re too lazy to walk a few extra feet. We sat at our table for a solid 10 min before being greeted and it was not even busy.

I can not say enough positive things about Manuscript in Tacoma. We drove all the way from Seattle and were not disappointed in the slightest! On the contrary, everything we ate was spectacular, the caesar salad was the best I’ve ever had and the crabby cakes were delightful. We tried every type of pizza and thoroughly enjoyed them. Chef Brandon’s menu is spectacular and our server Corey was delightful. The atmosphere was great and we had a wonderful night. Thanks again!

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. The bartender was spot-on with the "Bartenders choice"-- all three were exactly what we asked for. The drinks we ordered off the menu were great, as well. The burrata toast and the rustica pasta are a must-order. We will definitely go back!

We came here when this place was just a brewery and pizza joint!
Then I heard that a new restaurant opened up in Tacoma and wanted to try it out. Did not realize it happened to be the same location.
For starters, love the decor and vibe that the restaurant encompasses -more of a refined Italian pizza/pasta venue. It was not busy at all, there were only about three other tables besides ours.
Ordered their Pomegranate Temple which was good and strong. Only needed the one drink the entire time we were there.
Appetizer of choice to try? Truffle Fries. They were not my favorite but I enjoyed them as the thickness and crunchiness was to my liking, only. Personally, they were just heavily drenched in chopped raw garlic that threw off the overall flavor of truffle. I was only able to tolerate a couple bites.
Star of the show for me: the Bucantini Pomodoro with Salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked with a crispy crust and flaky/juicy center. It meshed wonderfully with the robust flavor of the sauce and texture of the pasta. The pasta was so fresh and also perfectly cooked.
I would come back just for this dish alone.
Service was good too, for the most part. Greeted, seated, given a few minutes to review menu and placed order for drinks/app. The waitress that helped us was welcoming and attentive overall but wished she would have checked in a little bit sooner, before we were left waiting to place our entree orders. The others at the table practically finished the fries before she managed to return to our table and ask what we wanted.
Nonetheless, it was a good experience.

Great vibes, really really good cocktails and mocktails, and the food was good too. Will be back for brunch next, and dinner again soon. The corn fritter app was 10/10.

We went for brunch this morning and to celebrate my husband's birthday. The staff was incredibly kind and provided great service. The food was beautifully plated and delicious. We tried the chilaquiles (yum! And the eggs were cooked perfectly) and the banana bread pudding. The hostess Janna (sp?) was exceptionally gracious.

We had dinner at Manuscript on 8.17. The Food: My husband had peach toast and truffle fries appys with a Pasta Rustico main dish, both of which he enjoyed immensely. I had the cucumber salad as an appy and the carne asado tacos for a main dish. The salad was exceptionally spicy and was dripping in dressing. I ended up not eating it because it was too hot and soggy. For the main dish, the steak on the tacos was overcooked and fatty. Again, I did not eat it. It should be noted the lady at the table next to us ordered exactly what I had and she too complained about the salad being too spicy and the steak being tough. My husband then ordered the panna cotta. As it turns out, it had raspberries and candied walnuts on it, so he couldn’t eat it as he’s allergic to walnuts. I tried the dessert and it was runny for a panna cotta and overly sweet. We both did not eat it.
The Service: The staff was polite and transactional. The server was nice, but not a true restaurant server who asks how the food is, do you want another drink, notice that you’re not eating the food, and so forth. When my husband made a suggestion of going over the menu items, particularly the desserts, she replied, “Well most people ask.” It was awkward.
The Atmosphere: Manuscript has an industrial, funky, and hip atmosphere. There are no bad tables that we could see. It’s definitely a place where you want to sit down and eat.
If you have gluten, dairy, or other food allergies, the menu is limited. For us, the food was rated great to not appetizing. The service needed work and the atmosphere was stellar.
