We had a wonderful dinner at Over the Moon last night. Our server was Jordon and she was excellent..offered good advice, was attentive and even came looking for me when I forgot my credit card! Wedge salad dressing was delicious as was the crab bisque. Entrees of halibut and short rib were also wonderful. Small venue but impressive.

The food, the service, the music, the lighting, all of it. It's romance and elegance without pretentiousness. The food is exquisite. You'll need a reservation.

Over the Moon is a romantic, delicious place to celebrate special occasions. In our reservation, I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday and made a small but special request. Over the Moon staff happily obliged, and our table was thoughtfully decorated with roses and a birthday card. The dessert was even served with a birthday message. We were made to feel so special. The food was spectacular, and the ambience was perfect. I can't recommend it enough.

Had a great visit for my wife's birthday with friends. The food was outstanding (the ragú was our favorite, the risotto also tasty), and the service was wonderful. I loved the ambiance- cozy and nice - not pretentious. I'm also sensitive to noise , and the restaurant was quiet and calm which made for a lovely atmosphere to catch up and visit with friends. We will be back for future romantic and celebratory dinners.

My husband and I were celebrating his birthday and had not been to Over The Moon Cafe previously. We can honestly say that our evening there was the absolute best! From the moment we walked into the cozy, romantic and bohemian chic atmosphere, we were entranced. From the warm greeting to the wonderful service our server, Charlotte, provided, it was an amazing evening. The food....oh the food! My husband had an appetizer of clams with sausage and he was absolutely drooling! I had a cup of crab bisque that was filled with scrumptious crab and the most delicate bisque radiating with flavor. Oh, and then the scallops over risotto for my husband and the lasagna with butternut squash instead of pasta for me. Both were just explosions of flavor! The ambiance of this tiny gem made the evening more special. Cozy seating and you are surrounded by the richness of days gone by and the music choice was just perfect all evening. We will go again for another special occasion and perhaps go again just because........it's that amazing!

I've lived in the Tacoma area for over 40 years and have frequented restaurants all around the North and South Sound from inexpensive to insane. Over The Moon Cafe is without a doubt a top 5 experience. And to top it off, they have been extremely consistent over a long period of time. Hard to believe the best lasagna this foodie has ever eaten doesn't have any noodles in it!!! By the way, their prices are incredibly reasonable. The Chef came out twice to check on the diners during my dinner as well. Cannot recommend enough!!!
Cute place with great service! The menu is somewhat limited. Great for one time, but not sure we'd come back as not a lot of choices. No problem with the prices for the atmosphere, but do have a problem that the scallop risotto my wife ordered only had 3 (yes three) scallops. Scallops are my wife's favorite dish so she's had this dish at countless other fancy restaurants and never had less than 6 scallops. She's a petite lady so it's not about the portion size, it's about calling it a scallop dish when it's really a risotto with a side of scallops. Again, not complaining about the price. And the flavor was good. But if you call something a scallop dish, actually have a normal amount of scallops. And if you need to charge more for being on par with other restaurants, then so be it. Just give the actual product that is expected.

A nice anniversary dinner. A nice intimate space. The food was outstanding. We had the wedge and the Caesar salad followed by the duck breast and their Ragú. We can recommend them all. The wines were reasonably priced. Our new favorite restaurant.
