These reviews should be updated! They are under new ownership as of this year! So the menu and prices aren't the same and they also have changed the scenery. I haven't had the pleasure to experience the new one yet but ive seen it and the comfy furniture and decor is no more! I dont know if they still use the table counters, punch cards, or as actively in support of lgtbq community but they are black owned and have added more savory dishes!

I’ve been in Tacoma for a year and while I prefer to cook at home, today was my first time here. My foodie friends from Seattle and New Jersey came for a visit - I decided on Red Elm based on Google reviews. While we all agreed that our meals were delicious, Calvin’s EXCEPTIONAL customer service is why I WILL BE BACK! I choose to support local - I’m so glad to have experienced the Red Elm Cafe.

I have been there twice and will definitely be going again. From the greeting when you walk in to the friendly staff, it feels like home and not a restaurant. I'm making my way through the menu but those chocolate chip cookies have me in a choke hold😋😋 10/10 recommend 🥰
