So sad that it appears TMI has closed. We loved their unique pizzas (the roasted Yukon Gold Potato pizza and the Prosciutto Arugula and Egg pizza were TO DIE FOR). Their crust was amazing - not that doughy, thick, overdone crust I've experienced elsewhere. It was substantial enough to handle lots of toppings but thin enough so as to not overpower the toppings (or make you feel like a beached whale post-dining). I *always* ditch the outer rim/edge crust from other pizza places with no toppings and throw it out or give it to my dogs. Not the case with the crust from TMI. Their wings were fantastic as were the salads, meatballs and fried zucchini. I'm so sad they are gone - South Tacoma has lost a real gem.... :(

Main Ingredient has a total of 12 YELP reviews and carries a FIVE star rating. Hmm, nope I don't think so. Let's correct that. Im a huge fan of the developing S. TACOMA Way neighborhood. It's so Tacoma and I love it! However, I don't love Main Ingredient. Who designed this pizza crust? Remember, get the crust right and the rest will fall into place. The crust is basically bread and unfortunately the toppings didn't elevate the taste at all. I wanted so bad to like this pizza. So if you're looking for pizza, drive by Main Ingredient and go to FARELLI'S or MODs or even better if you have time and reservations...Wooden City. When I reviewed this pizzeria, I did a side by side comparison with Farrelli's. So glad I ordered FARELLI'S as a back up. Maybe I'll go back at a later date to retry the pizza. Main Ingredient, I'm open for consultation Let's make the world a better place one pizza at a time, but it has to be good pizza.

I am a door Dasher so when I got there and my order wasn't ready that was kind of annoying because it affects my tip. But I understand and the lady up front was super nice and it ended up being less time then they told me it was going to be. Smelled good, will bring my family in for some fresh food soon.

I came into The Main Ingredient Pizzeria on Tuesday and would like to recognize Terra on her amazing customer service. I ordered the Buffalo chicken calzone and it was amazing! Jay, the cook did an outstanding job! I highly recommend coming here if you are in the area. Not just for the food but for the wonderful staff! Thank you!!

Good pizza! Some of their options are more on the unusual side I discovered which is something I'm always happy to see when it comes to food and drink! So far we have only been here once and we went with a more usual option since we weren't sure how much we might like this place. We got the Supreme Pizza or The Zeus which was a pizza we really liked a lot! The ingredients were really fresh and the crust was simply amazing! Staff was very friendly too! Looking forward to exploring their menu more in the future!

We wanted to head somewhere different -- and decided to venture down to S Tacoma as other areas are a little crazy busy right now and parking can be a hassle!! We were blown away!! S Tacoma is getting a facelift and I hope others check it out! This spot has great vibes, great local beers on tap (I enjoyed the Rueben's Hazealicious ) and cocktails, easy parking and great service! The pizza is solid -- the crust is thin and really tasty, and they have some great pizza options to choose from. We had the sausage and pepperoni -- super flavorful -- and also the Yukon which I loved. Our server was amazing, attentive and fun. I grew up right around the corner -- my parents have lived here for 50+ years and this neighborhood way back in the day when my great grandpa built the house as a show house in the 1920's was intended to be like North Tacoma! We will see what happens, but if fun places with great vibes and draft beers keep investing in this area it can only get better and better!

So, in the pizza wars of Tacoma, this place is in the top five. Their secret? Garlic butter on most of the crust if not all of the dough. That being said, the crust is slightly crispy and still soft. If you want something extra soft and bland, go get Ferelli's. Both pizzas are expensive for what they are. Don't get me wrong when I compare this pizza, because The Main Ingredient is much, much better. It tastes like what Domino's Pizza would taste like if they weren't depressed, or a national chain. My main curiosity was the sauce. Of course, as the name implies, the main ingredient (s) really carry this place in flavor. The sauce was a margherita sauce but elevated just slightly, and that makes all the difference. The pizza does have a slight manufactured taste, but in no way is that bad. I personally do not like a basic red sauce, but with respect to an original Naples style, this is a very good basic sauce that does not leave you wanting more. To clarify, I do enjoy flavourful red sauce. I personally like my sauce with a little more flavor, but this is a perfect light blend. The happy hour all day Saturday and Sunday is nice, although the drinks are weak. The pizza also reminds me of childhood favorites like Tostino's but with much better flavor minus a deep fried crust. Again, you need to understand that this comparison isn't to downplay the quality. It's about getting a damn good pizza that could elicit memories of favorites if not familiarity just taken up a notch. It's it the best pizza in town? No, it's not, but places that are divey like Tipsy Tomato may have them beat on a good day, or Wicked Pie pizza in Puyallup which is likely the best pizza around our area. It is better than Pizza Pizzazz but they're on a fast food level but still really tasty. There are many good places, but not something bland like Soloman or whatever it's called in stadium district. Please support this place, although pricey, it is worth it!

They have a couple boutiques around back on the top floor like a barbershop, a shoe store, and artist selling her art gallery. I haven't actually ate there yet, but I do hear good things about it.

I have to be honest, I go just for the garlic bread! The pizza was great, but the garlic bread will keep me coming back.
