I was in love with South Hill from the first time we visited. The views of Hood are unparalleled, Trish is a delight, and I have yet to meet a wine of theirs that I do not like. The atmosphere is unpretentious and inviting, while Trish is extremely knowledgeable and attentive, the combo makes you want to stay the whole afternoon. We love it so much we became members!
Believe me, I've been to more wineries than I can count. Hands down, South Hill has the best views. They were also able to accommodate our group of 8 on very short notice. I will definitely get the word out, because I hadn't even known about this winery before this weekend. Looking forward to returning when I am in the area. For reference, it's appx 15 minutes from Hood River across the bridge.
This place is a gem! I’m so glad we took the short drive from Hood River over to South Hill Winery, it did not disappoint. Visited on a Friday in late June when the weather was spectacular, and it was pretty quiet. It offers the best view of the Gorge from a winery, hands down. Our host, Trish, was amazing with the perfect balance between giving our small group space and being attentive. She was also incredibly knowledgeable, especially if you're interested in the history...
